power steering pump

Good day mga sirs,

just recently i encountered a problem with the power steering pump of my car. Patulong naman po, what would be the best option to do. I have crossed out buying an original part cause of budget constraints. should i opt for 1. surplus part, 2. a replacement brand or 3. have it repaired.

for options 1 and 2, may alam ba kayong shops na murang pagbilhan nito?
for #3, may kilala ba kayong nag-rerepair?

for me, kung di na makuha sa repair kit, bago na ang bilhin mo tutal sarili mo naman gamit yan. di naman pambentang sasakyan..

repair kit for ps pump is replacement gasket, seals. kung leak lang problema ng ps pump mo. tama si dx. kun panggamit, at di na pwede repair kit. bili ka na orig or oem ps pump.

may nabasa ako dito ..cousin ng isang Tsikot Moderator (sir Afrasay ..yata)
nag rerepair ng PS pump,saan ba place ng thread starter.
taga marikina yata ang shop nila sir afrasay

same problem din ako. pero i dont know if pump ang prob sa akin, nagbakasakali na lng ako kaya i ask zafra and servitek, nasa 4500 petot daw ang repair kit (nissan sentra) pos around 1500 petot sa labor nila.

ask ko na rin, pano pala nalalaman if pump ng ps yng may problema? may tumutulo ba na oil/ or what??? tnx

how abt if palit ka lng ng ps fluid, makaka2long ba yun kahit d mo ipagawa yng repair kit, tnx.

Pinsan ni afrasay, si Ferdie, ay nasa Caloocan.

Si GlennSter (another moderator) has a mechanic in their store in Kamias.

Meron ding mga shop owners dito like speedyfix.

ako, hindi smooth yung ps ko esp if nakahinto. para may pumipigil pero pag ulitin mo, medyo ok na. pos if full na yung ikot mo, may na squek

parang maluwag lang yung belt ng power steering mo.

nakapag palit na ako niyan. 3500 surplus bili ko sa banawe. kung puwede i-rebuild, rebuild mo na lang. nag palit ako kasi kulang ng torniliyo yung power pump. hindi masyado naalagaan ng dating may-ari yung sasakyan.

sirs, thank you all for the positive replies. problema ko kasi eh biglang tumigas yung steering ko, i have checked and maintained naman the correct tire pressure. may times naman na malambot yung steering lalo na kung di ko nagamit yung car for more than a day. I had it check with a mechanic, sabi it might be the PS pump, notice din nya na pag i-steer nya yung manibela there's a tiny humming sound. anyways, i'll try to looked for a second opinion about it, wala raw kasi silang pang-test ng PS pump. Sa casa ba, may capability to test a PS pump?

btw i'm a newbie here and really glad to join the forum, from baguio nga po pala ako.

wala naman leak sa rack mo chief?

Just had that problem fixed at Autotechnika (The Fort).

Kala ko nung una leak sa PS mismo... pero nung nag inspect ung taga Autotechnika sa rack pala may tagas.

Pa check mo mabuti kung ano ang cause ng leak... daming pwede kasi... pwede sa pump... sa hose... sa gasket... etc...

sir as for the leaks, no leaks from the PS pump, hose. dun sa rack, di ko pa na-check but base from my PS fluid level, no significant change seen on its level.

Add ko lang, normal talagang may konting sound coming from the PS pump while it is in operation. Huwag lang excessive.

if without leak try to replace the fluid first (much cheaper). usually ito yun most neglected fluid sa mga mahilig mag DIY next to the ATF.

repair kit for my PS pump costed me almost P1k lang, includes labor and a PS fluid too!
