For what vehicle and what is the reason for conversion?

Improperly tuned conversions can end up with longer braking distances [under instrumented tests] than the stock configuration. I'm not sure if any local facility can do on-track instrumented brake testing.

A lot depends on the car you have and if the surplus parts are available... You cannot just get any set of disks and slap them on and the needed parts depend on the vehicle and suspension type.

On a sidenote, unless you plan to do some serious track or road workouts, upgrading your front brakes (pads) and coupling it with good tires can pretty much be sufficient in most daily situations.

Nabasa ko rin sa forum yung drum brakes is madaling mag fade lalo kung basa at mostly ngayon lahat rides gumagamit nang rear disk brakes. Im looking for references and ideas kung pwede at madaling mag kon-bert. Sa advice nyo eh hindi basta2x o hindi ganun kadali humanap nang piyesa at magpagawa.Maraming Salamat po ulit.

If you are after braking performance, just upgrade the fronts as they handle most of the braking power (up to 80%). Go with better pads, better rotors or a big brake kit. Just keep the rear drums in a good state of tune.

Yung iba kasi nag-coconvert ng rear brakes for looks (e.g. after installing bling bling wheels). So they don't mind if there is a decrease in performance.

just don't drive fast after going through a flooded street...get the brakes a little time to dry up, sandali lang matuyo ang disc brake kahit front lang.

possible major problems mo kasi ay yun Disk rotors mounting that would fit your current wheels and (most importantly) yung mounting ng disk calipers....baka meron ka ngang disk pero walang paglalagyan ng calipers...

if you fabricate this two... minsan you start questioning the "integrity" of the work...buhay mo nakasalalay dyan sa preno.

alternative options that some racers do are: swap the whole rear (differential and brake set-up) to a similar model/make na disk rear.

most of the time, sa option na ito ang "minomodify" ng installer ay ang mounting ng differential sa tamang position...example: a toyota starlet rear diff runs on drum brakes, to change this to disk the possible donor differentials on disk would come from the toyota corolla liftback na late model or from an AE86 (trueno or levin - in the famous jap anime INITIAL D). Since magkaiba ang suspension setup ng starlet and the donor cars, yun ang imomodify instead. The brake lines will not be modified, the caliper mountings are intact as per original configuration.

for what car? i think most people upgrade to discs because finding high performance pads is so much easier than brake shoes.

upgrading the master/hydrovac is a good idea. pati narin the proportioning valve.
