I drive an 97 A/T Accord. All 4 wheels have disc brakes. I've traveled over 20k kms. on it, bago napansin ng mekaniko ko sa Shell na time for replacement na. Preventive maintenance kumbaga.
Di kaya japeyks yung mga naunang Bendix pads? Yung officemate mate ko before, wala pang 8 months, pinalitan agad yung "Bendix" niya, kasi it was screeching daw. Sabi nung mekaniko niya, saw dust yung material, peke daw. So he bought a pair na lang sa casa, kahit mahal.

Galactus. Maaaring japeyks yung pads kasi I've been using Bendix for years with no problems whatsoever.
I was asking for bendix pads tapos nung wala na sila makita, they put a set of pads sa bendix na box (malay ko kung ano yun). I checked and sabi ko hindi yan bendix.
How did I know, kasi nasilip ko sila sa bodega nila.

IMO, 8TKm is way too early to have your brake pads replaced, even if the pads are replacement pads and your ride is A/T.
Must be material issue or an accelerated wear and tear in the system

1D4LV: Were talking of bendix pads. I now replaced them with OEM.
CVT: Yup way too early nga. I'm rulling out brake system problems since okay naman ang diagnosis sa Speedyfix. I think it might be the pads. Baka factory defect or something.

Djerms,
Have you tried jacking the front end of the car up with the transmission in neutral, and checking the wheels if they rotate freely? If there's any resistance there may be calipers that are stuck up and won't release from the rotor. It happened to me a long time ago.

Type100: Yup, they also did this in Speedyfix and wala naman daw resistance.

In my 99 corolla 1.6L GLi A/T, I replace my brake pads every 7000km to 10,000km. I usually use Bendix replacement pads or Bendix metallic brake pads.
For my car, original brake pads didn't last any longer than the Bendix pads. Metallic pads can last longer than regular pads & offer better grip but they are harsher on the brake rotor.Last edited by ghosthunter; May 5th, 2008 at 04:57 PM.
