are my shocks busted?

try driving on bumpy roads or deliberately drive on speed bumps, if the car starts jumping up n down without settling immediately then your shocks are busted

afaik, shocks doesn't affect a car's ride height. it's only a dampener. what affects the car's height is its springs... baka nga ma putol...

i just nid to know one thing... may skid feeling ba car mo pag highspeed after running over uneven roads or during steep braking? coz if it has... me deperensya na ang shocks mo and stabilizer links. check mo na rin kung tuwid pa ang strut bars mo sa likod. minsan kasi ung prob sa likod nagmamanifest sa harap e. then bka alignment lang din... wheel and camber.

since u said lowered ung feel, the first thing you need to check is the shock mounts kc un ang pinakadelikado, raise ur tire with a jack and pag angat, alugin mo, kung ok it should feel "buo" and wlang luwag. try mo na rin silipin ung springs bka nga nabasag. but other than those kung ala naman apparent failure, then +1... sa shock absorber mo na un.

try to see na rin yung ball joint kung matibay pa, as well as the rack end and rod ends. mas maganda to kung mekaniko talga makakatingin, or better yet kung mabaklas mo para makita mo tlaga kung ano na ung worn out. in terms of looking at the suspension system kailangan ma angat para makita talga as a whole ung system mo.

i reviewed ur orig post... me skid ka nga pala.

busted shock absorber is now a definite possibility. kung wla ka makita tagas.. it is possible na matagal na un tumagas sa 1st owner pa at naubos na ang itatagas nya kya looking tuyo na. u can only see for sure ung which ones are busted pag nabaklas na at malambot na tlaga.

my best suggestion... inspect the stabilizers first and lahat ng mga links like the balljoints and tire rod ends etc. front and back ung tingnan mo including yung strut bars sa likod. definitely check the rear stabilizer link. pag sira un definite possibility sira shock absorber sa side na un. then after that pag wla pa rin, wheel/camber alignment.

the thing about the modern cars kc... ung shock absorbers ang back bone ng buong stabilizer and suspension system. kapag me sira ung shox, malamang lamang may mararamdaman ka talaga sa stability and handling ng car mo. very dependent tlaga sila sa shock absorbers.
