    1) no snow in the Philippines. (it is the ultimate snow machine!)

    3) gas guzzlers (especially the turbo versions).
    4) brand is not as recognizable as the big three (honda, toyota, nissan).
    5) brand is not as widely supported as the big three.

...but for those few who will experience ownership of this brand, you will forever be loyal.
    watch this!

the mitsu legnum can do those snow donuts too. hehehe.

anyway, among other accidents, in a rollover, the suby has got to be the safest ever. its B-pillar is reinforced with a lot of exotic tough metals that in a rollover, US firefighters don't try to cut through it using the jaws of life, they cut the car up sa center ng roof. it's that tough, sumusuko yung jaws of life dun.

sadly, subaru is to stop using aluminum in some body panels on future models. expensive na daw. this current gen could be the last impreza with those panels. tapos yung bagong impreza could be a hatchback hindi na sedan .

im a big subbie fan...tough i own a civic and sta fe...pangarap ko pa rin to. just dropped by last wed....kahit pano may mga buyers/admirers. sabi ni jake, yung agent. mabenta daw forester XT at wrx. ganda ganda ng legacy , parang bmw 3 series. pero ewan ko't di appealing sa iba. kung asa pinas lang ako i would be surely driving one either leagacy or wrx.

AFAIK all WRX(including STI) now use the 2.5L flat four even in Europe, just go to their global site and that is all they list for the engine

Subaru is always going to be a niche player... that's why they aren't pushing for heavy expansion. It's nice to know that they're doing well, that means that owning one in the future with a local warranty and service is a possibility.
then sold +300 units last year, and they are getting stronger with their Turbos.

the current low end impreza is 1 million php. The same as the new lancer but with ALL Wheel Drive! However though I want a subaru mapipilitan rin ako sa new lancer kasi mahal ang aftersales maintenance ng isang subaru. Subaru parts sa casa mo lang mapapaayos patay ka dyan taga yan e. Tapos yun nga makain sa gas hindi talaga siya practical. Hindi naman tayo kasing may pera ng US let alone ASEAN neighboring countries like Singapore and Malaysia kaya Im not expecting Subaru to become the next Honda anytime soon.
