If properly maintained, there would be no issues. The WRX and XT uses the same engine and tranny with differences in tuning only.

If the car is regularly used, the previous owner may have changed the CVT fluid, front suspension bushings, brake pads, and tires. Unless of course, the car was sparingly used (garage queen). Check the tires for the manufacture date. You need to change tires if they are more than 5 years old already.

New thick tires. Has 24k mileage only. Just heard people saying about cvt transmission issues same with xt.

CVTF change interval is every 40k km actual mileage. I bet the owner has not changed CVT fluid or brake pads.

So far eto naresearch ko:

1. High oil consumption, as much as 5 liters oil per 1500 km. That is like having an oil change every 2 months of normal use.

2. Oil leaks from the oil pan and head cover.

3. Cylinder head gasket problem. Can be very expensive.

4. Aircon problems. Kaya pala madami naka advertised na forester aircon condensers and evaporators.

5. Bushings and other suspension and steering parts.

6. And bad fuel economy.

Looking elsewhere.

I have a forester xt. Bought it in late 2019. 25k in the odo. Wife uses it. City driving. Paved roads almost entire time except for a few usual bumps here and there. Surprised i had to change bushings and rack end.

Yes, their bushings are not that good. I had to change mine twice before it reached 40k kms. Then, I switched to aftermarket bushings. Ran it for 35k kms so far. No problems so far.

Big turbo, exhaust, tune
68k kms

replaced power steering pump at 40k

major work at 50k kms/10 years old:
replaced radiator (started leaking at the plastic end tanks), did thermostat and water pump at the same time to be safe
also did ball joints and tie rod ends

replaced shocks and top-mounts (fitted coil-overs) at 65k kms

recharged a/c at 68k kms. o-rings needed replacement, but everything else (evaporator, etc) was intact.

planning on doing timing belt and tensioner at 70k. already have the parts.

2018 XV. Replaced the evaporator 2021. Replaced the low-side hose and expansion valve just this afternoon. Kinabahan ako akala ko compressor na because it was making an unusual noise. Yun pala it was a symptom of low freon pressure already.

some compressor systems shut down, when freon pressure goes low for whatever reason.

I only had to replace once the bushings on my 2016 Subaru FXT. My a/c also started to fail. So, I went to see Fusion R's resident a/c guy and he said it is still usable so he just charged additional freon to keep my a/c working. But my ever dependable talyer, however, took out the evaporator and cleaned it. He placed it back and the a/c still works well for more than 5000 km now. He sure did save me from inccuring additional expenses.

The talyer guy showed me the evaporator was contaminated with oil already.

I dunno if this is a common problem but, at 35k km, the Fusion R mechanic suggested that I go to a shop in Banawe specializing in fixing up my FXT's EPS. He said that if mine fails (malakas na daw yung play niya), MI will charge more than 100k to replace it while this shop in Banawe fixes it for 10k only. Sure enough, I followed the mechanic's advice and had the shop in Banawe fixed my eps in a little over 3 hours. My odo is at 40k km now and when I asked a different Fusion R mechanic to check my eps, he said it's still good. Thank God!

There is a bit of play (and thunk) in the steering especially when doing a tight turn and you hit a bump. My XV came with it. My friend also observed it on his WRX. Possible cause is the coupling that allows the steering to collapse on impact.
