Hey guys.. is it ok if I switch from mineral to synthetic oil? I seldom use my truck..in fact, my truck is already 14 months old and she only ran 6k+ km.
Casa said, once i switched from synthetic to mineral, i cannot switch back to mineral anymore... Should I stick to mineral?

IMHO wait ka nalang before siya mag 10K before shifting to a fully synthetic oil. kasi atleast pag dating ng 10K you are sure na seated na lahat ng parts sa loob ng engine mo or break in na break in na talaga siya. then from there you start switching if you want.

Thanks sir djoverdose, I am actually aiming for 10k.. but.. i'm just curios if mineral oil is ok for longtime use? Im wondering if anyone here is using mineral oil only.. ... please share your input.

Dati nung sedan pa gamit ko mineral oil lang ako all the way.

ngayon gamit ko semi synthetic oil. siguro pag dating ng 20K dun ako mag fully synthetic.

pero para sa akin maski mineral ok lang basta alaga ka lang sa change oil. plus depende narin sa gamit ng pick up.

I have been browsing all the threads about engine oil * Tsikot Forum. I come to see that the three most used/recommended synthetic engine oils are; Motul CRDi Specific Diesel 5w-40, Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w-40 & Royal Purple 15w-40 * no particular order.

If we ASSUME that price is the same or no bearing.... either of the three that I will choose...it is best quality engine oil for our Strada. ?

Assumptions:
1. 1L of Mineral Oil = 250; 1L of Synthetic Oil = 600
2. 5,000kms = 3months; 10,000kms = 6 months
3. 7 liters per PM needed for the unit


If Mineral for 1 year.

PM on January: 250 x 7 = 1,750
PM on April: 250 x 7 = 1,750
PM on July: 250 x 7 = 1,750
PM on October: 250 x 7 = 1,750
Total for the year = P7,000

If Synthetic for 1 year.
PM on January: 600 x 7 = 4,200
PM on April: 600 x 1 = 600
PM on July: 600 x 7 = 4,200
PM on October: 600 x 1 = 600
Total for the year = P9,600

A price difference of about 2,600 about 37% higher if you use synthetic over mineral based on the assumptions used above.

ask ko lang kung ok ba yun shell helix hx7 5w40 ? or should i get the hx7 diesel plus? available kasi dito sa amin lang is hx7 5w40 lang... thanks

Mas malaki pa difference since yung high-end multigrade na Mobil delvac MX or Delo Gold ay mga P200 lang per liter. Kung maganda oil filter mo Baldwin, Fleetguard or Bosch), pwede 10K PMS. Pero if OEM or yung mga replacement lang like Vic, Daiwa, dapat 5K palit na, at addt'l cost yung new oil filter. But in terms of performance and longer durability of engine, siyempre synthetic na.

Sir Mugen I am using that mismo sa diesel ko na Strada at Paj. Read the back info, it's CF4 rated and puwede sa diesel. May new packaging sila na ilalabas so better see if yung diesel ay 5w40 pa rin or 10w40 na.

Yung lumang mga stocks kasi nila IMO ay designed for both gas and diesel. Kaya API rating niya ay SM/CF. HTH

Agree ako. Using synthetic will cost you about at least 20% more for semi-synthetic and about 40+% more or mineral but that is what you need to pay more for better performance and durability of engine.

PMS na ko sa 5k sa union motors paco ako nag pa PMS nung 1k ko. pwede kayang sa diamond q.a ako pa PMS ngayon? plano ko po sana mineral oil pa din o kelangan ko na mag fully synthetic? ano po mga dapat ko pa check? tsaka palinisan or palitan kung meron man? tsaka meron po pala parang ibon na naiipit yung tunog pag inuuga yung oto, tapos pag lumiliko po parang may maluwag na jung ano man sa ilalaim, ano po kaya yun? sensha po dami tanong, thank you po.

Pwede mag pa PMS kahit saang Service Center na accredited ng Mitsubishi.

All your concerns..sabihin mo lang sa Service Engineer. Meron naman standard checklist for each mileage..kaya no need to worry kung anu ang need to check.

Last time I had my Rig serviced at Diamond-QC, I saw a notice that ACU must be cleaned on the 20K PMS.. hindi ko lang ito naitanog sa SA ko baka meron ng nakapagtanong nito --- ma void ba ang warranty if I decided not to have my ACU cleaned as suggested ng casa? Free ba ito considering that it is w/in the warranty? IMO, I find the 20,000km cleaning too early.. dagdag gastos nanaman ito if it is not for free

BTW on my wipers (na-ngi-ngi-nig), pinalinis lang ni SA ang windshield ko-- okay naman during my test, I have not tested it pa ng matagalan wala pang ulan eh... I hope that is the solution to to my wiper problem..

Hindi sir, madami sa member until now hindi pa pinapalinis since 2007 or 2006.. basta ok pa yung lamig huwag nyo muna palinis... kasi pag nabaklas na yan, dyan na magsisimula ang mga problema.. sa akin 2008 65k+ na yung mileage wala pang cleaning... Pero nasa inyo pa rin yan, sasakyan nyo yan.
