when i saw the picture, the first impression i got was this was accumulated and compressed dust from the vacuum cleaner... hehehe... in case you will to the DiY task, please update us... so far, these are the only pictures that were taken from The_Engineer's phone.

pero if that is a filter, then madali na yan palitan nang tama na filter talaga
come to think of it, yeah. the foam is too dense and i doubt it if air can pass through... it could be more of a sound insulator then...

lets wait for the response of sir The_Engineer...

Sir Ian hindi po ito air filter ng aircon, its an insulator lang po ng aircon fan motor to reduce the fan vibration and noise reduction...

Mga sirs, "spacer" lang po yan between the cover and the blower to avoid the vibration and noise from the blower.

Im only sharing to you what is based on Airconditioning system, a blower needs a filter also coz if its not it will get all the dirt inside our cabin and yes it also acts as acoustic filter....mga kapatid sharing ko lang to it does not meant to make me as the technical one....Im not pulling Ian's leg FYI PO!Anyway not create any discussion's already...thanks anyway sa threads ng club...hopefully we could share our insight's....i though na sharing information with our strada's ay hindi kasing contraversial na ganito...Haiz salamat na lang sa inyo....But again im not PULLING IAN'S LEG FYI PO....nagkataon na di lang ako makakuha ng time....but it seems it creates some situations.....More power na lang po sa Club

Actually Lakay Engineer, I think our ninong ng bayan is actually referring to freeway as the one that is pulling your leg hehehe and not you pulling ians (which I think would be very hard to do... peace ian! hahaha!)

to be back on the topic, I just had my 60,000 heavy check up and I personally ask the chief mechanic regarding the filters....and he even pulled out mine....

He told me that the foam under the dash which ian posted was only for the purpose of noise reduction, temperature insulation and can also be considered a cushion for the dash to avoid rattling which I think is still not effective...and to add up talaga daw walang aircon filter ang strada and most of the models that are being launched nowadays, and nabangit din nya kanina na yung mga ganun insulation daw is parang pasak na din which is the part na medyo naguluhan na ko hehe....so in the end he said na talagang papalinis nalang ang aircon kapag mabaho or mahina na which is sad considering na medyo mahal talaga magpalanis and matagal....
