na overconfident nga si arlovski don, super. hindi man lang niya inisip na si "Fedor" ang kalaban niya. the slightest mistake can cause him that fight. ayun, flying knee ka pa ha. aerial ko inabot niya. wahahaha

He was gone mid-air before he even hit the floor. actually maganda yung gameplan ni Arlovski eh.

MANCHESTER, England — Amir Khan's speedy punches saw off Marco Antonio Barrera in the fifth round of Saturday's lightweight bout, marking a turning point in his career six months after a major setback in the same arena.
The 22-year-old Brit won on a technical decision after a disciplined battering of the outclassed Mexican, who was covered in blood after a cut to his forehead in a clash of heads in the first round.
The tide of blood pouring down Barrera's head was never stemmed, and the ringside doctor eventually called a halt to the bout.
Khan's gamble to fight a seven-time world champion 13 years his senior paid off, with the 2004 Olympic silver medalist banishing memories of being humiliated by Breidis Prescott in 54 seconds last September in style in his 21st professional bout.
"This fight was make or break for me, but I felt so comfortable it seemed liked easy work catching him with the jabs," Khan said. "I'm happy with the performance. I mustn't have done much wrong in that fight."
Khan has been transformed by trainer Freddie Roach and sparring with pound-for-pound great Manny Pacquiao — sessions he felt were tougher in the end than the fight itself at MEN Arena.
"The jabbing and patience — I felt so strong. You could see the difference," Khan said. "I had to take some shots in that match. I made some mistakes in the past and I'm not going to make them again."
Now Khan wants a shot at a title by the end of the year, and promoter Frank Warren said he hopes to set it up.
"I proved to a lot of people how good I am and ended the criticism I've been getting," Khan added.
On the undercard, Ola Afolabi claimed a cruiserweight title by knocking out Enzo Maccarinelli, while Roman Martinez knocked out Nicky Cook to win a super-featherweight belt.
Afolabi's decisive right hook in the ninth round knocked out Maccarinelli (29-3), the Welshman who lost the WBO title to David Haye last March.
"I trained hard, was nice and fresh but I think my lack of sparring told," Maccarinelli said. "Take nothing away from Afolabi, I took him too lightly and I got beat."
Afolabi (14-1-3, 6 KOs), who was born in London of Nigerian parents but now lives near Los Angeles, won the belt Haye vacated when he moved up to heavyweight.
Earlier in the night, Martinez knocked out Cook in the fourth round to capture the WBO super-featherweight belt that Cook had held since September.
Cook was in control of his first defense until the Brit was floored by a left uppercut from Martinez (21-0-1, 13 KOs) in the fourth round.
Shortly after Cook got up from the canvas, the Puerto Rican mandatory challenger landed a powerful left hook. As Cook (29-2) struggled to get up again, referee Dave Parris called a halt. -AP

Ha ha ha! Doc Manny ba? Anyway, Vitali actually has a PhD in Sports Medicine kaya merong Dr.

Cruiserweight talaga si Gomez e, while si Vitali eversince heavyweight. Parehong champion, pero since sa heavyweight ang laban, I agree with fourtheboys96, lamang si Vitali dito. But then again, we’ll never know until the two men are inside the ring.

Panalo nanaman si Vitali
Source:www.gmanews.tvKlitschko retains WBC belt, TKOs Gomez in 9th

STUTTGART, Germany — Vitali Klitschko retained his WBC heavyweight title by with a ninth-round TKO of Juan Carlos Gomez on Saturday.
The 37-year-old Klitschko twice put down the Germany-based Cuban defector, in the seventh and ninth rounds, before Belgian referee Daniel Van de Wiele stopped the fight with 1 minute, 11 seconds remaining in the ninth round.
Klitschko (37-2, 36 KOs) was making the first defense of the title he reclaimed by stopping Samuel Peter in dominating fashion last October. The Ukrainian, whose brother Wladimir holds the IBF and WBO versions of the title, hasn't lost since getting knocked out by Lennox Lewis in 2003.
The 35-year-old Gomez was the mandatory challenger and a former sparring partner of Klitschko's. He was seeking to become the first world heavyweight champion from Cuba.
"I knew that he was a world-class boxer," Klitschko said. "I said before that the fight would not be easy."
At 6-foot-7 (2.02 meters), Klitschko had a size advantage of 3½ inches (9 centimeters) and 19 pounds (9 kilos) over his southpaw opponent.
Gomez (44-2) joked afterward that he had not expected to last so long.
"I thought I gave Vitali a very hard fight but I realized it wasn't enough," Gomez said. "He was so tall and so heavy."
Trainer Orlando Cuellar said it was his decision to send Gomez out for the ninth.
"I asked him, 'Can you try for one more round?' He was a very valiant fighter," Cuellar said.
Gomez managed to frustrate the champion early, keeping his hands high to fend off jabs and moving in quickly before Klitschko could deliver powerful rights.
Klitschko landed his first big right midway through the second round, drawing a smile from Gomez, who showed he was capable of pushing the bigger man back when he landed his combinations.
The champion found success leading with his right in the fourth as he began to take control. Klitschko led on all three judges' scorecards after four rounds, and opened a small cut on Gomez's right eyebrow in the fifth.
A cut opened high on Klitchsko's forehead in the sixth, and he was forced to backpedal to the ropes in the seventh.
But that effort seemed to tire the Cuban, who lowered his hands and provided a better target for Klitchsko.
Gomez put a knee to the canvas for a count of eight, and was pinned in his own corner after another big right. Gomez pulled both men to the ground before ending the round bravely defending in his corner.
Klitschko ended a quieter eighth round with another flurry and the end looked close.
Gomez got some breathing space in the ninth when the champion was reprimanded for gouging by Van de Wiele. But Klitschko launched into another assault, downing Gomez by the ropes with another right and finishing the fight a minute later.
"I was a little hectic," Klitschko said. "I wanted to end the fight earlier but I didn't get to hit him enough."
After drawing a crowd of 13,000 to the sold-out Schleyer-Halle, Klitschko said he'd like to fight in the United States again.
Klitschko said he could now meet the giant Russian Nikolai Valuev, who holds the WBA title. He also has a proposal from the Staples Center at Los Angeles, where he lost to Lewis, for a fight against Chris Arreola, an unbeaten 28-year-old from Los Angeles.
"I hope a couple of millions of Americans watched," Klitschko told The Associated Press. "America is the mecca of boxing. Everybody understands you can defend your world title many times in Germany but the real world championship is just in the United States."
But his next battle is set to be in a courtroom, as he prepares to take on the WBC for the right to choose his opponent.
Klitschko has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland to stop the sanctioning body forcing him into another mandatory defense, against Russian former champion Oleg Maskaev.
Klitschko's younger brother Wladimir, who was in his corner on Saturday, is in negotiations to face Britain's David Haye, the charismatic former cruiserweight champion, on June 20. The brothers say they will never meet in the ring.
A three-time champion, Vitali retired through injury and vacated his WBC title in 2005. He returned to reclaim it last October against Peter.
Gomez previously held the WBC cruiserweight title for four years before vacating in 2002 to move up to the heavyweight ranks.
He earned the right to face Klitschko by winning a unanimous decision over Vladimir Virchis last September.
On the undercard, two veteran American southpaws who sparred with Klitschko to prepare him for Gomez won against German opponents.
Tony Thompson (32-2, 20 KOs) stopped Adnan Serin in the sixth round, and Chris Byrd — who defeated Vitali to win the WBO belt in 2000 and lost it to Wladimir six months later — stopped Mathias Sandow in the fourth round.
The 38-year-old Byrd (41-5-1) now fights in the cruiserweight division. -AP
