We stopped going to MMC when SLMC BGC opened. MMC used to be good up until the 90s but by mid 2000s it deteriorated. The last time my Lola was confined there about a decade ago, I told her she should not go to MMC anymore. The elevators were not even functioning and I had to take the stairs! What about Senior patients or visitors who can't use the stairs? Rooms are old and parking was consistently hellish and expensive and you have to pass the backdoor of the hospital which is a little freaky.

But I think they made improvements recently? The last time I had to be rushed in the ER was 2011 ata since it's the closest hospital to my home. The ER seemed new and the staff were very attentive.

Here's the cost of my latest exams (Dec 2016) at SLMC BGC.

Really? My parents doctors are from TMC. But we stopped going to TMC na rin because of the traffic The elevators are also horrible at TMC.

But yeah MMC is still on the top 5. Philippine Heart Center is also good daw.

ito na dapat panahon na maghanap ng better health alternatives. Imagine yung bicycle stres test eh nasa 12thou. Ang dami nasasayang na pera sa bloated price ng medical procedure.

Mali ginawa dito. I dont care kung addict or pusher yan or kahit mamamatay tao pa or snatcher ng cellphone or pedophile or kahit bakla. Once nasa loob na ng hospital you need to treat a patient. Be a doctor.... Be a nurse.

Alam nilang walang kwarta eh.

Dito sa interview pa lang eh hugas kamay na si medical director. Kung may kwarta lang sana yung biktima eh sureball panalo na kaso. Katakot takot na damages makukubra nila.

Saw that video yesterday, nakakapangilabot paano pa kaya in flesh. Hindi kaya ng sikmura ko.

The dude died while being transferred.

Sa tingin mo Doc what js more na hindi naipakita sa video that could spare the hospital / medical care providers?

It was shared on my fb feed through Carlos Celdran. The usual planted sachet of shabu at "nanlaban" kaya binaril.

Can't find it in my feed anymore.

According sa nag-share sa FB, it's a case of "nanlaban". IIRC, it was police who threatened the hospital staff to stay back. Anti-drug campaign ni Yourpres. Do you still think "Mali ginawa dito"?

    investigate away!

the better to clean up the industry.

    "buti nga sa kanila!"

galit ako sa mga kriminal na ito.

here we are, trying to make medical care available to the common tao, and there they are, caring only for their pocketbooks...

    errr... why st lukes?
do you know something the general public does not?
or, are you rationalizing because you believe the place charges considerably more...?
my personal belief is, "when you are in the limelight, you tend to behave better than those not in the limelight".

    i agree.
    because "normal" means, "usually there".

but we all agree, it does not mean it is right.

St. Luke’s BGC employees file notice of strike
    By CNN Philippines Staff
    Published Sep 26, 2019 3:26:43 PM

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 26)— The labor union of a high-end hospital in Taguig City has filed a notice of strike, claiming that its management disregarded an order from the Labor Department concerning employer-employee bargaining policies.

Officers of the St. Luke’s Medical Center Bonifacio Global City Employees Union-Independent filed the notice against the hospital management on Thursday, after the latter failed to hold a certification election that would determine the employees’ rightful representative in collective bargaining negotiations.

The Labor Department issued the order for a certification election last July.

Under the labor laws, a certification election is the process of determining—through a secret ballot—the sole end exclusive bargaining agent of all employees in a bargaining unit.

Sherwin Moscosa, president of the independent union, said the hospital management “willfully engaged in unfair labor practice” when it chose to bargain with another group. He cited Article 256 of the Labor Code, which deemed it illegal for the St. Luke’s management to negotiate “when there is a legitimate petition to question the majority status of the incumbent bargaining agent.”

“Our right to democratically elect a union that shall represent our interests as employees has been violated by our very own employers when they chose to negotiate with the representatives of (Alliance of Filipino Workers) despite being prohibited by labor laws,” Moscosa said in a statement.
