Congratulations Blue Eagles for bagging both MVP awards both the Men's and Women's Volleyball Tournament
Has this been done before? Mukhang another history in the making yun ah
Ganda nito at may Game 3 sa Women's Volleyball. Another opportunity for the Lady Eagles to claim their first ever championship and continue rewriting the history books.
Heartstrong!
GO ATENEO! OBF!
:cheer::groupwave:
now that the lady eagles' winning streak has ended, i'm free to post here again.my superstitious thinking has gotten the better of me and brainwashed me to the assumption that the 8 game victory of ateneo was due to my absence here in tsikot. feeling masyado ako eh :rofl01:
w/ valdez and lazaro going down w/ injuries again, it's incredible the lady eagles are giving the opposition fits and
headaches given the experience and superior line-up dlsu has. it's nice to see the usually cool coach ramil de jesus on pins and needles when ateneo gets its groove.
coach tai and the rest of the lady eagles will surely attempt to win it all and come out swinging on wednesday. i guess their gritty disposition is the main reason why they have legions of fans who are non-ateneans.
the onus to be champs all season long is on dlsu. let's see how they play w/ the psychological burden of finishing off a depleted and wounded but fighting ateneo squad w/c refuses to kowtow w/o a happy skirmish
one big fight!
The Ateneo Men's and Women's Volleyball Teams exceeded all expectations this season
To me, panalo na sila.
Bonus nalang ang championship sa women's tourney
GO ATENEO! OBF!
Hopefully Lazaro could play by Wednesday. It was obvious how much her impact was whenever she was on the court. Kahit paika-ika, buwis-buhay pa rin sa receive, which frees up the rest of the team for a good set and kill.

Ara, Aby, and Mika showed how it is done. The Lady Spikers simply showed the Hearts of a CHAMPION!
Congrats Lady Spikers!
Back with a vengeance
The De La Salle University Lady Spikers bounced back mightily from their first setback of the entire UAAP season with a four set victory over the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles, Saturday afternoon at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Ateneo threatened to extend the match to a sudden death fifth set but La Salle proved steadier to wrap up their first win of the finals and inch closer to another UAAP women’s volleyball title.
DLSU took Game 2 of the finals 25-14, 25-20, 19-25, 26-24.
Ateneo raced to a 3-0 lead in the opening set of the match, riding their momentum from their recent victory. However, DLSU’s Ara Galang and Mika Reyes powered their team with monster hits in the first set. Ateneo was also tested by date as Denden Lazaro rolled her ankle, forcing her to sit on the bench.
Without Lazaro, DLSU continued to dominate the match taking the set 25-20. But the Lady Eagles gallantly fought back, taking the third set 25-19 and keeping their hopes alive.
Ateneo fell behind early in the fourth set as Abby Marano heated up but a service ace gave from Alyssa Valdez gave Ateneo an improbable tie at 24-all, climbing back from an eight-point deficit.
However, ensuing twin errors from the Blue and White side handed the victory to the DLSU Lady Spikers
"Syempre hindi kami magpapaagaw ng korona," said Galang after the match. She was named as the Best Player of the Game after scoring on 16 kills and a block.
The DLSU Lady Spikers now have the opportunity to win a historic four-peat as the two teams meet again on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Back with a vengeance: DLSU one win away from title with four set win over Ateneo
The View from the Armchair: Lady Spikers bounce back in Game 2 to move one win away from 4-peat
25-14, 25-20, 19-25, 26-24 win by the Lady Spikers brought them one win away from an unprecedented 4-peat.
The heart of a champion, The best way to test that is to see how they responded to setbacks and adversity. The resounding answer was a resounding comeback victory this afternoon. Quite a difference after they looked a bit lost in their first setback in 31 matches last Wednesday. If there was a question about their character, today’s game was an emphatic response. No one’s taking the championship from them. Not if they can help it. And yes, they can.
The Lady Spikers took control of the game right in the first set, taking it easily with a barrage of attacks from all angles. It was Ateneo that looked lost as they surrendered meekly, 25-14. But this was exactly the scenario last time, and Ateneo came back to hand the Lady Spikers an unexpected loss.
Not this time. The Lady Spikers kept their collective noses in front with effective blocking and floor defense to take the second set, 25-20. This time, it was closer, and Ateneo crawled back after trailing 18-11. It looked like Ateneo was starting to get their act together.
But whatever the score, it was still a 2-0 lead in sets. However, their tendency to take it easy when they have a comfortable lead reappeared, and they lapsed into several errors to hand the 3rd set to Ateneo, 19-25. Again, errors gave the Ateneans free points. And Ateneo took the 3rd as the La Salle offense became tentative, attacks got weaker, we lost the set.
But in the fourth, the Lady Spikers pulled themselves together, and despite a last-ditch attempt by Ateneo that tied the set at 24-all, the Lady Spikers closed out the game.
What changed from last game?
Quite a few things. Attacks – we had 46 points on spikes against 34 for the Lady Eagles. While Ateneo matched our blocking with 7, we had 64 attempts vs 45 for Ateneo. Ateneo’s serve continued to plague our receivers, with 12 aces to our 4, but our scoring was balanced with Ara (17), Mika (14), Abi (11) in double digits against only one for Ateneo (Valdez with 15).
Our players started reading Ateneo’s offensive thrusts, and our floor defense picked up, negating many of Ateneo’s attacks which had gone through in the first game. And most importantly, the resolve was there, to prove that the first game was a fluke, and that they are not giving up the championship.
Will we in it on Wednesday? Most probably. Ok, very likely.
ANIMO!

UAAP Women?s Volleyball Finals Game 3: Will La Salle close it out or will Ateneo close in?
The voices of the OBF faithful. When Lazaro got hurt the cheers at the Big Dome practically became a symphony of voices from the Animo crowd. The Lady Eagles have used their supporters as a source of inspiration and Coach Tai can only do so much running backwards. The extra push must come from beyond the four corners of the court.
my heart bleeds for lazaro.
all season long she has been nursing that injured hand of hers, and now she's got to gut out the final few game/s w/ a swollen and fragile ankle. she's definitely the willis reed of ateneo volleyball
one big fight!
