July 7th, 2014 12:37 AM #111Tinigilan ko na yung paranoia ko sa blood sugar when I experimented the other day and ate lots of sugar, pag take ko after 2 hrs nasa 80+ hehe
insulin drives glucose into your cells kaya bumaba blood sugar level mo
your body responds to insulin -- good (pre-diabetics are insulin resistant kaya sobra taas ang blood sugar after eating))
glucose is converted into fat for storage (weight gain) -- not good (that's the downside of being insulin sensitive -- gain weight easily)
reduce carb intake to avoid insulin spike to avoid more fat storageLast edited by uls; July 7th, 2014 at 12:43 AM.

kaya it's funny when i hear people say di na daw sila kakain ng pork kasi gusto nila pumayat
whatda...
meat doesn't cause insulin spike
it's the rice and bread and sweets and sugary drinks that make people gain weight

I tried an experiment and drank cocoa cappuccino for 3 months and gained 10 lbs after that! I compared to my previous intake of just plain cappuccino and I realized it is the mocha powder and chocolate syrup that made the difference! I went back to plain cappuccino ever since and slowly losing the excess fats. OB, waddaya say?

LeBron James on no-carb diet to prepare for upcoming NBA season
Although he’s still the best basketball player on earth, the whispers had begun circulating the past year: “LeBron’s not looking as explosive as before, right?”
It’s a natural sign of aging, but fortunately for Cavs fans, James, who will turn 30 this December, is intelligent and disciplined enough to take the necessary precaution now. He’s going on a “cut” – a bodybuilding term for a diet, basically – to lose weight.
Dropping weight via healthier eating is a move other superstars such as Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, have done and all three have gone on record saying the weight loss has prolonged their careers.
Each athlete had their own method of dropping weight though. Nash cut out sugar completely. Bryant ate mostly veggies. James is forgoing carbs.
For James, whose official NBA weight is 250 but is widely considered to weigh at least 10-15 pounds more than that, the weight loss is likely a preventive measure to save his knees.

I wish I had the discipline to totally give up carbs! My Mom's cardiologist went on Paleo (minimum carb diet) and he looks so much younger now. He does not need to take any maintenance meds at 40+

it's totally common sense
if you wanna lower your blood sugar you cut carbs
i dont get why doctors do not advise patients to cut carbs
all i hear from doctors is avoid fatty foods
here's proof
fasting blood sugar ko July 30
fasting blood sugar ko this morning
noong July medyo malakas ako sa rice (2 to 3 times a day)
seeing the over 100 result (which is prediabetes level) i cut down rice to once a dayLast edited by uls; August 16th, 2014 at 05:17 PM.
