sino gumagamit? does it really have a big difference compare to ordinary training shoes. I'm currently using Nike free pag nag gym. pero yun mga vibram type na parang paa na talaga. and just saw Adidas is also coming out with this type of shoe this November. it's called The Adipure Trainer, which is a cross between a glove for the feet and a traditional training shoes.

Ok na ok na yang nike free kung gym din lang. No super expensive shoes esp if not a professional athlete.

I wear Vibram VFFs everyday and like them a lot. If the "foot look" is not you, you can also try Terra Plana's Vivbarefoot line which looks more like traditional shoes while retaining the barefoot feel.

I'm aware of the Adipure but the jury is still out on that one. The Fila Skeletoes are iffy and Vibram currently has a suit against them about the design or something.

The VFFs strengthened the other muscles of my legs which were neglected by wearing traditional shoes. I find my balance a lot better now and I can run farther, longer without getting winded right away as I adopt the natural running form over heel striking when wearing traditional shoes.

I heard nothing but good feed backs from people using vibram five fingers. I guess that's why a lot of us navy seals are using them.

these shoes are really meant just to correct your running gait and not really to use everyday. yung craze on
'barefoot' running was just started by frustrated runners who cant keep up with faster 10k's or 21k's of the younger generations

alot of people will get injured using these, unless you're running barefoot since as a kid or run 90% on dirt/trail.

using barefoot type shoes requires alot of discipline and training time before you can run it even in 5k distances.

umm those shoes really followed and patterned from a study that those who trained barefooted had more developed muscles on footsole thus performance improved and stronger gait, because wearing cushioned sole shoes some of muscles on footsole will athropied or shrink... even willy miller before joining PBA (MBA then) he played basketball barefooted in our barangay

PS: only advised these shoes with no prevailing injuries that may worsen without cushioned soles

in addition to above: when using these barefooted shoes at first your feet will ache especially the soles, may due to the muscles atrophied from using shoes that has too much cushioned...

Well padded ba mga five-finger shoes? It might not be good for you if you're an under/over pronator.

i watched a Modern Marvels episode about shoes. It said they were able to trace the beginnings of shoes by studying the bones on the feet -- i.e. bigla daw lumiit once man started wearing shoes. Makes sense naman, your body adjusts to your environment routine, the more stress a certain part undergoes, the more solid the muscles, bones, ligaments etc become. So i guess me sense yung sinabi niya.

Kaso, if you overtrain naman, or use equipment that's not suited for you, you get injured, sometimes permanently. That doesn't do you any good either

Better ask a sports doctor or something for the real deal. imho if there were any truth to barefoots being superior for running, all the pros would be wearing them.

not a fan of barefoot running also. barefoot running will help you train how to run the right way but that does not mean you run a race with it. maskina hindi ka naka barefoot shoe you can train the right kind of gait naman, it just takes discipline. pagbarefoot kasi wala kang choice but to strike mid or fore foot first kumbaga forced ka tumakbo ng ganyan. you can do this on regular shoes and you cannot change your gait overnight.

studies reason that people have been running barefoot during old days, but did they run on cemented roads back then? maskina kabayo nga kailangan ng horse shoe para hindi mainjure

Although I haven't tried barefoot (or minimalist) running shoes yet, I have been curious about them. I have tried running barefoot at the beach and the day after, I had muscle pains in places I didn't know existed. So I figured, barefoot running must have its benefits. Kaya nag-web research ako and found these sites. Baka makatulong din sa yo:

in the end really, what works for you either conventional running shoes or these barefoot type ones. pero pansin ko lang kenyans are the fastest runners in the world, looking at their leg muscle structure, they have gargantuan quads but very thin calves. meaning when they run they do not use forefoot running thus eliminating use of the calves which barefoot running teaches.

One time just for the heck of it i tried a run start with a kenyan on a 10k trail run in Maarat, after the gun went off it was an all out sprint for me, i was only able to keep up with the kenyan guy for about 2min then kept pace with the kenyan female, whom after awhile also left me in dust. i was 22min behind the kenyan guy and 7min behind the kenyan female after the finish line, they werent breaking pace during the steep ascents while i had to walk 3 times due to stitches because of the blistering start

if you are a runner/marathoner sir, guess you want to change learn from conventional heel approach to barefoot style... will reduce the risk greatly of acquiring cuboid syndrome and other related running injuries.
