well, i just thought that this trade is very much one sided, but if other fellow GM thinks its not then I also got no problem with it, just voicing out my opinion. well I just think even if artest have a good year this year, it still wont justify the trade. he wont have the same production of tracy macgrady iguodala and ginobili are pretty must even, eventhough manu will have a lesser PT this year while iguodala has more of an upside. well if you fellow GM dont oppose this, its fine and let the games continue
parang ako lang naman ata nag object, well ILD if you think you got the better side of the deal, its fine. let the trade proceed, as long na no other GM objects this, I dont see any reason vetoing the trade kasi ako lang nag object hehehe
well to be honest nagkamali ako ng pindot, instead of clicking the "reject trade", "accept trade" na click ko, either way its a long season anything can happen lets wait for the commish, players will breakout, players will underperform...
standby peeps, I offered another trade to commish, lets see how this plays out.
Jlee: To be honest, I don't think I got the better of the deal, I really intrigued by Artest's potential as a all around fantasy stud - hustle stats. Big risk for me... also big reward. Am really not concerned with the points since I would likely lose to you guys on that department anyways. :D
well, i just think that you can get the hustle stats u want from artest in iguodala, and you got the advantage in position coz both t-mac and iguodala have G/F eligibility, while manu and artest are only strictly SG and SF. while in T-mac you can still almost get all the all around stats plus the scoring. I just dont see the point in your trade. If you really like artest then you should have got him in your first pick the last time we draft. And as we can see, when the deal push through, the other team will be too strong. i think you should also consider that point.
Well we all make mistakes, I drafted some players that I think I shouldn't have drafted or I drafted sooner than I should have, I make trades to improve my team, and I think I've accomplished that so far. If you really think that this is an unfair trade then we veto simple as that. I still have other trade scenarios playing on my mind.
Boss ILD, if the cause of you accepting the trade is indeed a wrong click, then you could request commish to veto the proposal Pero kung gusto ninyo talaga, okay lang.
IMO, You can get manu and artest for tmac alone. tho medyo lugi naman ng kaunti yung kabila.
teka nasan na ba si commish, baka nahagip na ng hurricane.
I originally asked for Manu + Artest for TMac + Bell, eto yung counter niya. Anyway no problem naman sakin kung i-veto, we can always make another trade
hi everyone. sorry i haven't been able to check the site, the hurricane knocked out power to almost all of the bottom half of florida and i have no access to internet. kahit ngayon i can only check sporadically (when the generators at work are operational). anyway, we are safe and sound, but have pretty bad damage to trees and the roof, and no power or phone.
anyway, medyo magulo tong trade na to so let me explain the events, give you my justification for the trade, and tell you what we're going to do:
like ILD said, he emailed me saying nagkamali siya ng pindot - accept instead of reject. i immediately replied offering to veto the trade (btw, if this ever happens to you let me know and i will make the same offer). he made the email back saying hwag na lang, ok na siya. so go na kami.
at that point my power went out so i guess after two days without me approving, the trade goes through. but no matter, i can still change the rosters if we have a problem. i just wanted you guys to know that i wasn't ignoring this issue.
since i'm involved in the trade, i can't exercise my right to veto. so, if a majority of the GM's (6, excluding ILD and myself) vote to veto, i will veto. i'll also give ILD another chance to withdraw his acceptance of the offer and if he does so, i will veto. time limit for the veto to pass will be the day of the first regular season games so we have our rosters set for the beginning of the season.
please vote yes/no on this thread, at paki-tabulate yung results since i might not be on too much.
i think Ron Artest has some serious upside this season, and i was very happy to get him in a later round. sure, you do run some risk because of his insanity, but he is really emerging as a superstar fantasy player. in the 7 games he played last season, he shot almost 50% FG, 90% FT, and recorded about 25pts/6reb/3ast/2stl/1blk/1three a game. that's 8 out of 9 categories he contributes in. will he keep it up in '05? maybe not the FT% (he's a career 72%), but why not the others? Reggie is gone, he and JON are the primary scoring options, and he'll be playing close to 48 minutes a night because his defense is what makes this team go.
we all know Tmac is a superstar and we know what we're going to get from him, but here's his line from '04: FG-43%, FT-77%, 26ppg, 6rpg, 6apg, 2 spg. 2threes. not that far off.
but i do understand that it's kinda difficult for someone to trade away his #1 pick for someone i got in a later round, which is why i offered Manu for Iguodala, which gives him a huge upgrade in the pts and 3's category to offset the loss of Tmac:
i don't see how these guys have equal value - Andre is a very promising rookie who plays defense and hustles, but he will never be a big scoring threat with AI and Webber on the team. Manu, on the other hand is a bonafide NBA star. did you see how he carried the Spurs in the 2nd half of the season with TD out, and again during the playoffs?
anyway, i think the trade is fair, and if you guys veto it, hindi rin masama ang loob ko because i'll be keeping 2 very good players...
