November 30th, 2005 02:11 AM #31i think blessings in disguise din ang pagkawala ng Basketball, kasi baka dito na naman magconcentrate ang mga tao eh ang dami nating chances na magka-gold sa mga individual events.
first time din natin manalo ng gold sa Mountain bike downhill.

Height ng Filipino best for football, all our Asian neighbors hooked with football fever tayo basketball pa rin. Basketball for entertainment na lang, football is the future.

lahat ng nagho-host ng SEA Games, malamang mag champion, kasi, aside from the homecourt advantage, pwede din magsingit yung host country ng events na siguradong mananalo sya. Yung ang ginawa ng Vietnam the last time kaya sila nagchampion. Balita ko, yun din ginawa ng pinas. Example ng event na sinama, yung Dancesport competition. Wala naman nyan sa Olympics. di naman nagsasayaw ang mga roman and greek athletes noon pag olympic games ... pero di ko sinasabi na hindi athletic yung mga dancers ha. Saka yung mga events na merong subjective judging na involved, malamang panalo yung host country because of audience impact. Ang hindi mo lang talga madadaya dyan yung events na merong score, or yung mga karera and throwing events, like yung sa athletics. Like sa high jump, kahit anong lakas ng cheers ng audience, kung talgang mahina ka tumalon, wala rin. I'm not taking away anything from our athletes pero yun lang ang opinyon ko. IMHO lang ;)

November 30th, 2005 12:10 PM #37ndi natin basta maaalis ang pagkahilig ng karamihan ng mga pinoy sa basketball. isa ito sa mga influences ng amerikano sa atin na ndi natin basta basta mababago just like other SEA countries na nainfluence ng mga european colinizers which happen to like football and not basketball.
nway, ok din sana football kaso, as in most cases in our country, dami problema ng sports sector. bukod sa usual financial problem, nahahluan pa ng pulitika as what is happening in the basketball in the philippines.

Madami namang sports sa SEA games na wala sa Olympics. Lahat ng "spectator sports" wala sa Olympics.
Wala sa Olympics ang Bowling, Billiards, Karate, Dancing (tangna sport ba to? but kung meron Figure skating, I guess pwede nadin hehe)... Sama mo na yung mga localized events like Sepak Takraw etc.
Problema sa basketball dito, ala egoy ang laro pero wala namang height.
