you cant go wrong with a weak ROP, kahit iwan mo ng isang araw yan on one spot walang mangyayaring damage.

Hi guys! I'm looking to purchase a cheap ROP. (Yes, lulong na ako) My budget is around 3-4k. Any recommendations? I've been hearing about this decent kyk ROP, would you happen to know what model it is?
ILD: San po yung sinasabi mo na shop for power tools?
Thanks in advance!

patopig: with that budget, I think you can get numerous types of ROP but if you're looking for the ones that are really good, you would have to increase your budget to the 4-6K range. The good ones here in the Philippines would be the DeWalt and Bosch. These are the ones with variable speed thus enabling you to do various detailing work (polishing, surface defect removal) aside from wax application / removal.
I don't know if the ROP / Rotary hybrid of Makita is already available here though. but if it's available, I would definitely go for this.

patopig / dehadista: try calling Fineline * 873-4461 / 873-4462 look for Tyrone (although friday pa dating niya from his out of town trip if you can wait). They carry Makita, B & D, DeWalt, etc. Dun ako kumukuha ng mga tools ko, their office is in Pamplona, Las Pinas.

Hey guys,
ok kaya magpabili ako ng porter cable from the US. I have a friend going there for about two weeks. I know 110v sya and I would need an AVR(those used for PCs) for it
thanks

cardo: IMO, you'd be better off with a Rotary. Just have to practice first...

Porter Cable is good kaso nga 110V. But WeWalt has a more powerful motor.
It's good to start with a ROP first before graduating to a Rotary. bear in mind that the Rotary is a different machine altogether. This machine should be used only by people who actually know how to use this 'cause this can actually cause buffer burns in seconds. SO be sure you know how to use a Rotary before using it on your ride's precious finish.. or else repaint na ang mangyayari dyan sa damage done.Last edited by chain; June 9th, 2005 at 09:29 PM.

Is there a "safe" speed for a Rotary? AFAIK the Makita 9227 has variable speed...

I've been using it for 3-4 years na.. the makita is a very useful tool when it comes to removing surface defects.
yes, variable speed ang Makita.
try to start on low muna. just don't go over "2".. so play around on "1" muna until you know how to wield it..
