sayang hindi pala makapunta ang gilas sa taiwan
i guess for the best na din iyan
ang tanong kasali ba ang taiwan sa fiba touney dito sa pinas sa august? at kung kasali sila, pupunta kaya sila?
pero siguro by then tensions have eased up and the politicians over there wouldn't make it an issue
paro tayo nga pumunta na ang shanghai sharks hindi naman natin binigyan ng rude welcome maski na may ongoing heated dispute tayo sa china. siguro naman we will do the same thing to taiwan come august. it's sad that some regular taiwanese joe can't extend or can't be seen to extend the same courtesy towards our athletes and kababayans

San Miguel Beer center Asi Taulava named MVP of ASEAN Basketball League
Asi Taulava of the San Miguel Beermen has been named Most Valuable Player of the ASEAN Basketball League, the organization announced on Wednesday.
“We have some very talented players in our league, and any one of them would have made an excellent ASEAN MVP – and it is a testament to Asi Taulava that he was selected by the teams for this award,” said ABL chief executive officer Anthony Macri in a statement.
The 40-year-old Taulava became the first player to win MVP honors in the ABL and the PBA. He won the Philippine league’s top award in 2003 as a member of the Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals.
He joined the Beermen prior to the season, jumping ship from the PBA’s Meralco Bolts and promptly helping the squad to its second straight appearance in the finals of the ABL.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to have Asi in the AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League this season. He was the go-to post player down the stretch of big games for the San Miguel Beermen all year-long, and always seemed to deliver,” added Macri.
“He is a great ambassador of the game to the region as well, and I hope he has a few more years of play left in him for basketball fans throughout ASEAN to enjoy.”
In an earlier interview with InterAKTV, Taulava called his MVP nomination an “appetizer” to his team’s finals campaign.
“That’s the ultimate goal,” he said.

Aguilar bound for Ginebra, Washington to Globalport in multi-team deal
JAPETH Aguilar's long-awaited move to Barangay Ginebra is pushing through afterall.
Multiple sources told Spin.ph on Monday that sister teams Ginebra and Petron and league newcomer Globaport are putting the final touches on a deal revolving around the high-leaping Aguilar.
The final draft of the trade has yet to be approved by all the parties, but the main deal that would have Aguilar moving to Ginebra for rookie center Yousif Taha and a future first-round draft pick has already been sealed.
Globalport, the sources said, is also involved in another swap with Petron that would have the Batang Pier acquiring Jay Washington for rookie gunner Jason Deutschmann.
To complete the shake-up of Ginebra's lineup, the league's most popular team is also sending high-flyer Elmer Espiritu to Barako Bull for a future draft pick.
Sources said the multi-layered deal could be approved as early as Tuesday pending the final talks between the two SMC clubs and Globalport team owner Mikee Romero.
