This guy's been hit too many times in the head to think that he can make it in the PBA -- as coach, much less as player -- on top of his Boxing and Congressman duties.

SPIN.ph: Daniel Padilla on decision to decline spot in AMA Titans team: "Hindi tayo pang PBA or D-League"

TEEN sensation Daniel Padilla on Wednesday explained his decision to beg off from the AMA Computer University team that will see action in the coming PBA D-League Aspirants Cup, saying he doesn't feel that he deserve the spot.

Hindi naman tulad ko na pinasok lang,” the 19-year-old star of the blockbuster movie 'She’s Dating A Gangster’ told Spin.ph.

The teen heartthrob also cleared his mother network ABS-CBN and his handlers from blame, saying they had nothing to do with his decision not to play for the Titans, who picked him during the 15th round of the recent D-League rookie draft.

DI PA TAPOS ANG MGA GALAWAN | Philippine Basketball Association

    hmmmm daw who?? hmm JWash?

Beau Belga says he won't treat Pacquiao differently from any other PBA player: “Basketball yan alangan namang pabayaan mo lang siya tumira o sumalaksak sa harap mo.

My mistake, GP pala.

GBP lost jwash + 2r pick, gains baclao + TNT 1r pick
NLEX lost ganuelas, gains arboleda + two 2r picks
TNT lost baclao + arboleda + 2r pick + 1r pick, gains jwash + ganuelas

Talk n Text has loaded its arsenal with additional artillery for the coming PBA hardcourt wars.

Jay Washington, a Gilas Pilipinas reserve who played his first three PBA seasons with Talk n Text before moving over to San Miguel Beer and then GlobalPort, is back with the Tropang Texters. Tagging along is the high-leaping neophyte Matt Ganuelas, whom many see as loaded with the potential to be one of the league’s future stars.

The series of deals involving Talk n Text, GlobalPort and NLEX approved by the Commissioner’s Office Monday evening had the Batang Pier and the Texters first swapping players with Washington moving to TNT for Nonoy Baclao, rookie Harold Arboleda and the Texters’ second round pick in the 2018 Rookie Draft.

The second transaction had GlobalPort shipping Arboleda, the 2018 second round pick from TNT and a second round pick in 2016 that it acquitted from Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in a previous trade for NLEX’s Matt Ganuelas, the No. 4 overall pick in the recent Rookie Draft.

Finally, the Batang Pier sent Ganuelas to Talk n Text for the latter’s first round pick in the 2017 Rookie Draft.

Both Washington and Baclao are both headed for a sort of homecoming.

While Washington is returning to his original team, Baclao is to be reunited with his former bosses in the Harbour Centre team that ruled the inaugural ASEAN Basketball League.

Curiously, both are former top draft selections by Air21 dealt to another team.

Washington provides the Texters additional scoring sock while Baclao brings over to the Batang Pier his penchant to play tough defense.

Washington, the 2005 draft top choice, spent his first three PBA seasons with Talk n Text under coach Chot Reyes before being shipped out to San Miguel Beer in 2008. Then after five years with San Miguel/Petron, he found himself being traded to GlobalPort.

He’s moving back to Talk n Text after logging a career-best norm of 20.8 points a game as a Batang Pier last year.

Meanwhile, Baclao, the 2010 top draftee, is jumping over to GlobalPort after putting in career-best averages of 5.7 points and 6.5 rebounds as a Texter. (SB)

Talk 'N Text gets Matt Rosser, NLEX targets Kevin Alas in three-team PBA trade | PBA | SPIN.PH

It turned out the Jay Washington-Noy Baclao trade is just the tip of the iceberg.

Sources told Spin.ph that another wave of trade transactions involving rookie Kevin Alas are about to take place, shortly after PBA commissioner Chito Salud approved the deal that sent GlobalPort's Washington to Talk 'N Text in exchange for Baclao, Harold Arboleda and the Texters' 2018 second-round draft pick.

As it is, the deal had already kicked off another deal that saw GlobalPort send Arboleda and two second-round picks in 2016 and 2018 to NLEX for No. 4 rookie pick overall Matt Rosser, who in turn was shipped to Talk 'N Text in exchange for the Texters' first-round pick in the 2017 draft.

However, that may not be the end of it.

Talk 'N Text, in a bid to add young blood to an ageing lineup, is currently finalizing talks with Rain or Shine for the rights to Alas, the former Gilas cadet and Letran star who played for the Texters' sister team NLEX Warriors in the PBA D-League.

Alas was picked by Rain or Shine at No. 2 overall in the last rookie draft but has suddenly become dispensable after free agent guard Paul Lee decided to stay put on a fresh two-year deal.

Sources said Talk 'N Text may either hold on to Alas or ship him to NLEX, but the Texters also has to find takers for Washington since, with Rosser in, they are way over the maximum of five Fil-foreign players in the lineup.

NLEX is expected to part with a couple of draft picks as part of the three-team transaction.

The only remaining hitch in the negotiations, sources said, is that Rain or Shine wants two first-round picks for Alas while NLEX is only willing to part with its 2015 first-round pick and a second-round draft pick in 2016.

“Gusto nung kabila (Rain or Shine) dalawang first round (picks),” said a source privy to the negotiations. “Depende pa kung ano ang mapapagkasunduan. Pero ongoing ang negotiation.”

Another source said the San Miguel group is also looking to join the hunt for Alas if the current deal falls through.

PBA na ulit... (continued)
