June 19th, 2012 09:19 PM #851Sirs,
I need to replace my super black tints sa sides and back for safety reasons. Help naman mga sirs.
Points to consider:
1. Looks dark on the outside but provides good visibility on the inside esp. at night (and, if possible no reflective properties)
2. Budget is 3-5K only
3. It should go well with my 3M fx20 (medium dark) on my windshield (i dont plan to replace it), and
4. in case you need car type - it's a black sedan.
Q pala - Are there other variants of "magic" tint that looks like a super/dark/med black (oh, 10-30 will do ) on the outside, but with clear visibility inside (with no reflective properties and stuff)? Im guessing the answer is none but who knows. ;)
I also cosidered below options but please feel free to to give your feedback -
A - Most forumers suggest 2-layer tints- mostly a combination of magic (outside) and darker (inside) films. What's the outcome of this - Is it still reflective on the outside? Will this ans. point 1? Can somebody post a picture pls it will be very much appreciated. TIA.
B - Would it be possible to do a 2-layer, but with the med to dark film on the outside and light(?) magic on the inside? It doesnt sound right, I know, but this is to achieve (hopefully) point no. 1...
Please feel free to suggest some more if deemed necessary.
Thanks in advance.

Sir IMHO I would not recommend double layers ng tint, lalo na kapag dark shade.
The 3M FX Series looks dark enough, parang medium ata yung sa windshield niyo. I'd recommend SolarGard na Titanium series 16 shade (medium) or if you want yung 6 shade (super black). Tried and tested on my FD in strong rains, night drive.

^ i agree to avoid the double layers ng tint. Just get the one with the exact specs you need.
^^ i recommend huper optik brand if you have cash to spare. kaso pag best value, i'd go for v-kool. pasok sa budget un v-kool OEM5 series. medyo reflective nga lang, but visibility is good enough and specs are very good.
if i had another chance, i personally would go for something lighter maybe 10%-15% visible light transmission kaso i wouldn't go for OEM series anymore.
for reference:
WS - huper optik CS30 (5k)
Windows - v-kool OEM05 (2k+)
Back - 3M BC35 (free)

What would be the cons with having double tint layers?
I wouldn't suggest double layers in front, coz it will not be as clear as a single layer of similar darkness. But on the sides and rear, I think the (less) visibility is acceptable for the sake of not being seen from the outside.

double the chance of mistakes? double the price?
IMHO, the 5% visible light transmission series of several brands are dark enough not to be seen from outside. tapos tints with warranties do not cover double tint layers.
furthermore, if you are willing to pay for the extra price, why not go for the huper optik CS05, it's multi-layered already, quite thick and visibility from inside is not as compromised as having two layers of tints.
just saying

Di kasi ako satisfied sa nilagay ng toyota casa sa sides at back na tint, and since walang tint ang windshiield pinalagyan ko ng quantum 19. I have 3 questions.
1. Tingin nyo papatungan ko na lang ng quantum tint yung 3m bc35 or patanggal ko na lang muna then kabit ng quantum 14.
2. What are the dangers of removing tint from back with defogger and printed antenna? Di kaya magloko or matanggal yung defogger and antenna?
3. Anybody had quantum all around their windows, ano effect nito sa fm transmitter am/fm reception, pati sa gps? Metal elements kasi yung quantum eh.

1. bc35 + q14, the result might be too dark
2. walang guarantee that your defogger will not be damaged.
3. don't have quantum but afaik, vkool has metallic properties too. no effect naman to my wireless devices, although my windshield tint is ceramic..

you mentioned you won't go for OEM series anymore, pwede malaman kung bakit? around 30% ang price difference ng OEM sa Signature. (based on SRP)
additional query:
bakit pala ayaw ng ibang tao yung reflective tints? sorry Dont have any experience yet, but on my mind, I think it really helps on providing additional privacy, since whenever I saw one on the street, I cannot really see the people inside.
