Why low upload speeds? None of us do much online gaming or webcam chats.
Even with the low upload speeds, it seems okay when my youngest kid games online or we have the occasional iPad webcam chat.
On the other hand, my wife and youngest kid do a lot of Netflix (my oldest kid has her own account). The download speed is fine. The only change I made is to have unlimited downloads. The old limit was 2TB per month. Yup. We were exceeding 2TB per month.![]()

Google just launched its "one" a few months back. With its family package 2Tb isn't too expensive. The fam could upload everything. Hopefully 10Tb will be cheaper next year after the year's subscription.
The portable 80gb-250gb hard disks have failed.. I still need some old laptop to extract the data from them. moving forward cloud storage seems like a good way without having to fiddle with NAS

Ang ganda ng internet speeds ng ISPs ngayon given that a lot of people are stuck at home. Hopefully hindi ibaba ang speeds once things normalize.

So marami pala kami nawalan ng phone and internet...
Na hack tuloy sila. I'm okay with the slow speed but I need service

So I got talked into upgrading my Globe Plan 1599 10mbps 500gb cap to Plan 1899 25mbs unli. No lockup period naman daw so I went for it. Was activated in 2 days.
Meanwhile last night I was waiting for my isaw a few houses ayaw from home and I spotted a huge roll of Converge cable hanging from one of the posts. More choices for me.

Converge 1599 still makes a lot of sense and I will be getting an account soon. Copper cables are very attractive to marauding Jawas and I'm hoping they'll leave the fiber lines alone.
What's holding me back from terminating my Globe account is the landline that came with it. Besides in my line of work I need a backup connection. Mobile is so terrible in our location that even the Grab riders get lost when they enter our village and their data craps out.
