Yep, I like how Windows 7 does all the dirty work a.k.a. driver installation. It installed pretty much every driver on my laptop, except for the built-in card reader driver which I downloaded from Compaq's website. All Vista-compatible drivers work on Windows 7 in my case.

I'm still grumbling about the apparent "long pause" whenever I'm copying huge files from one drive to another. Vista had this problem. It looks like it's the same with this Win7 Build.

my dual core 2.5ghz, 2gb-ram Yes.

    my pentium 4 3.2ghz, 1gb-ram No.

it is on par with my xp, but lag sa games on the pentium. it only uses microsoft ver. driver. kasi wala pa sa ati radeon driver. and xp or vista driver is no go...

still have some bugs too... once nag a hang-up siya one time, the next restarts and the rest of booting-logon speed became 4x slower...

I hear hindi pa pala ito ang early unoffical RC.

Photoshop CS4 startup is speed, but working on heavy files is par, sometimes lesser speed than xp.

I take it the 9.3 Catalyst doesn't work? I have an ATI X1200 on my laptop which is fairly low-end. The ATI Catalyst drivers for Vista/Win7 worked fine.

yep, my pentium4 uses agp x1650 pro. tried vista and xp but no joy.

tried windows 7 hd2xxx driver but same parin...

in fairness, my problem with laggy openGL is gone in windows7.

yet it hangs a lot even on windows explorer environment... but my dual core seems happy on any environment so far.

copying files is good compared to the last windows 7 6048 I tried which had a long pause like yours.

I upgraded my Vista Ulitmate to Windows 7 Ultimate a few days ago. This is already the Release To Manufacturing (RTM - Build 7600) version. It's basically the same as a boxed copy without the box, so to speak. Available to us through MSDN. Saarrraaappp!

Installed Win7 on my PC and am loving it! So far, everything works! It's way faster than my previous OS, WinXP. I actually never tried Vista since its release so I don't know the performance difference with Vista.
