    In my case here in Cali, yes. They have exclusive ties with AT&T as an incentive to regular customers or Starbucks cardholders. I'm assuming they have different offerings outside US. Check with your local Starbucks.

    How would you really be certain that there isn't any other wifi users aside from you in your area? Do you regularly check the access logs in your router for any stray connection?
