    I want to buy a video card with HDMI out so I can connect the PC to the flatscreen TV via HDMI cable. Will this also carry the sound signal?

    hindi po sir pang high def lang po ito so it means walang kasamang sounds

    yan ang gamit ko sa PS3 ko hehehe sulit sa linaw

    Yes. SPDIF.

    Read and understand the literature of your soundcard/mainboard and videocard.

    Locate the SPDIF headers in your soundcard/motherboard soundcard and connect it to the SPDIF input of the videocard.

    I am not sure if there's a new format wherein the SPDIF is ported via PCIe.

    On my bro's laptop, The HDMI output carries both sound and video. ewan ko lang kung paano sa mga desktops.

    Our technician says that there are models that do and don't so I guess it's a matter of pricing and features.

    Para saan po ba ung HDMI? kse ung laptop ko me port nun...pwede ko po ba iconnect un sa lcd tv ko me HDMI port dn kse un??thanks!

    I bought mine sa monoprice.com very cheap but good quality. No need to buy expensive ones like monster cable. HDMI stands for Hi Def "Multimedia" Interface so its name says it. Your technician is wrong, HDMI cable will carry both Video and Audio

    Yes, HDMI cable itself does carry both. but AFAIK, some older videocards have no SPDIF inputs/Sound inputs. kaya depende din as mentioned by Memphis Raines.

    mga pafs sa pc nya mangagaling ang hdmi ang pag kaka alam ko wala pang video card na hdmi na nagca-carries ng video and sound,, sir kng gusto nyo po meron po msi mother board na meron built in HDMI kahit di na kayo bumili ng video card na meron hdmi e pwede nyo na iconnect sa mother board

    yung ps3 ko at dvd built in hdmi kahit wala ng audio output pwede may sound na lumalabas na LG lcd ko pero yung sa pinsan ko na video card na meron built in hdmi walang sound na lumalabas manually pa iconect and output sound para magkaruon

Does the HDMI port in video cards include sound?
