maximize your ram if you can, thats what i did when i got my notebook. personally ill clean it first like previously mentioned (spyware, junk, etc.), burn files that are only taking space, before even considering reinstalling it. i only reinstall if i ran into major problems.
you can also upload your files (MP3's etc) sa internet then download it in canada....
Do a back-up and do a complete re-installation ang nasa isip ko na isang option...of if you don't want complications...buy a new harddisk (P4-6k) install it in your laptop, format it and install your need licensed softwares.
Then yung old harddisk mo, ibili mo naman ng external usb hardisk case (cost P800-1200 lang)...it now becomes an usb external harddrive/storage drive (which you can choose to bring along or leave sa pinas).
*laptop battery- recondition it-fully discharge then charge most neglected part of maintaining latops- replacement battery mas mura abroad...get one...repacks sa Pinas unreliable
*1gb ram and never look back...if u can spend money on ur ride then u can do the same with ur notebook
*update your bios kung masipag ka talaga
how are u gonna go on line?....office lan, hot spots etc....??
paturo ka ng ipconfig pag sa lan, sa wireless access card etc....just in case
40 gb usb mobile hard disc Php 3,850 sa cooltoyz
256 ram 'round Php2-2.5k......

eto hula ko lang sir glennster:
yung comfort zone sa pf usage depends on your specs: yung pf usage sa akin kasi is about 410mb (out of 2271mb) and yet di ko feel na gapang yung pc.
pls correct me if im wrong![]()

Kung tlagang delikado at mahigpit, upload it on sa internet then download mo na lng pagdating mo dun
Indeed you are way out of the demarcation line. Without any programs open, your pf should register the normal 165mb.Originally Posted by GlennSter
this is where your gmail account comes in handy. a 2.5GB virtual hard disk. heheh.
sir, if i may add regarding the "violation of intellectual property rights"....
just received an email (circulating in our office) regarding yung mga pirated cd's/dvd's. di lang ito ang tinitignan, pati na rin ang mga pirated books, bags at clothes na rin. mas mahigpit sa U.S. pero i'm sure ganoon na rin sa canada. sabi nga eh, mas mabuti nang nag-iingat. mahirap ng ma-fine pagdating mo duon. imho, if kaya naman sa budget, eh dapat siguro puro originals and licensed ang dadalhin mo. para walang hassle sa customs upon your arrival....
happy trip na lang po sa inyo! :-)
sir,
suggestion ng officemate ko, yung mga mp3's and other downloaded files pwedeng i-transfer sa memory stick (not sure kung yon ang tawag). yung pang usb. i'm not sure also kung ilan ang kayang file na i-accomodate. someone in the previous replies said that you can upload these downloaded files back sa internet and then download it when you're settled in your destination. kung maiwasan po ang pag-burn better.
------- edited to add------
yung sa ipod kasi obvious na pang personal use, yung laptop ninyo pang personal din. applicable siguro for both. do not bring lang yung mga pirated copies na cd's/dvd's.
oh yes..i wont bring any pirated cd's and dvd's kasi wala naman ako masyadong ganun...pero madami akong downloaded video's and mp3's.yun lang naman concern ko para di naman ako mainip dun sa pupuntahan ko.hehehehe
thanks pala sayo and to your office mate.hehe
