im going abroad soon.and im planning to bring my laptop with me.

i only have 2gig free hard drive space for each partition of 21gig and 14 gig.

    =============================
bawal ba magdownload ng mp3's at videos and bit*******s sa canada?
yung mga kazaa, *******..bawal ba dun?

how about my movies and mp3's na nandito na sa hd ko?bawal din ba?

    how about pirated games?programs?
    ============================

sobrang daming tanong...but thank you for the replies.im panicking na since lapit na ako umalis.heheheh

    thanks mga fudrahs at mudrahs

boss burn mo sa CDR or DVDR mga media/apps mo for backup then restore/reinstall your laptop to factory default by using the XP CD that came with it. for sure bibilis yan ulit at lalaki free space mo!

i suggest you delete some unwanted(meaning, yung hindi mo naman madalas gamitin na programs) files... or back up mo muna sa cd mo para di lahat nasa hard disk...

i dont know about mp3s and pirated games installed in ur laptop though...

laki ng hd mo...but almost puno na sya. try to back up some files (burn sa cd/dvd) by deleting them. (good candidates are mpegs, mp3, jpegs)

delete temporary internet files: sa i.e. po...go to Tools / Internet Options...may options po dun about deleting these files. it might be taking much space. btw make this a habit: do it as often as you can baka madami na naiipon na files na you don't need.

next: for a pentium 4 2.3 ghz...mababa ang 256mb RAM...if you can afford it..try to upgrade to at least 512mb RAM.

btw: i advice na wag ka magdadala mga cds/dvds na pirated when going out of the country..you never know kung ano mangyayari. better to be safe than sorry tol. my 2-cents po.

Try to scan using trendmicro house call para matanggal or at least mabawasan yong problem mo. It's free.

    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

    Good luck.

Defragging (sorry kung mali spelling ko) your HD may also help but it would take a longer time(ie. 24 hrs) to do it.
If possible try mo din mag upgrade ng Memory to 512Mb or 1GB.

You can try cleaning up all un-needed memory-resident programs which gets loaded during startup - these really slow down your system :

    click START
    click RUN
    type msconfig
    click OK
    click STARTUP

uncheck all the programs that you do not need during startup and watch your system go lightspeed again.

    HTH

Glen baka pwede kang humingi ng CD sa dealer, usually mga laptops may kasamang recovery cd which includes the OS.

remove your installers and transfer them to a hard copy. same with all files that you hardly use. as for the pirated stuff, wag mo na dalhin. mas ok kung nasa Laptop mo lang. o kaya magaling ka magtago hehehe.

whenever I travel and i bring along my laptop, I just make sure na dala ko lang yung basics.. tapos yung mga ibang cd's ko nakahalo na lang sa ibang bag ko. hehehe

Pag nagkaproblema PC mo, salpak mo lang yung recovery CD, automatic reformat and install ng windows and drivers. check mo yung cd mo kung may kasamang windows yung recovery cd.

First, check on your PF (page file) usage. Your PF usage history should normally indicate 165mb. More than that, you have to remove unwanted programs and files. How to check? Press ctrl+alt+del. Windows task manager will appear. Click on the performance tab. Also, you should minimize/remove unwanted system tray icons located on the lower right side of your display. Displaying program icons on the tray means your computer is monitoring programs which in fact you're not using. One thing, if your system restore is set to on, your computer allocates a lot of memory whenever it automatically sets a certain restore point, especially when you install programs. You will be able to free some disk space by cleaning up each partition. Go to my computer, right-click one of your local disk, select properties, click disk cleanup, click the boxes which contain temporary files, click on more options tab. On system restore, click clean up. By doing so all your restore points will be deleted except the most recent windows automatically created. Defrag the drive after.
