Any Seiko or Orient automatic is a good buy at that price. You can even buy a new one for some entry level Seiko or Orient at that price in PWC.

I'm curious lang hehe. I thought it would be cheapest in Europe. I like nice watches on men but wouldn't spend on one for myself [emoji14]

The SBGA211 is a nice pic doc. Pero baka po mahirap yun servicing the spring drive in the long run. And likely expensive too.

This one is nice too (not mine). It’s a 3-hander, no date classic, manual winding GS SBGW231.

    oo nga. maganda.

my current timekeeper is a daily driver solar seiko.
accurate enough. and it doesn't die if i don't wear it. just don't hide it in the drawer.
    heh heh.

i have a mint-condition orient ocean star classic, that i don't use, for fear of wearing and tearing it.
i am wondering why i bought it, in the first place, kung hindi ko pala gagamitin.

Nice watches you have there Doc.

Hmmm. Sometimes, I guess we buy watches just because we like how they look? [emoji3526]

USD pala!!! Sorry! Akala ko peso!

For 5k USD, best one new is the Omega Speedmaster Professional or the Moonwatch. 256k for the Hesalite model and 269k for the Sapphire Sandwich at Lucerne.

You can check some Planet Oceans or an entry-level Breitling or IWC.

Yeah. Tag carrera is also nice.

    The omega is also nice.

May i suggest the iwc pilot chrono? You get 2 functions in 1.

    Chrono and flieger style.

Within your budget too if i may add.

Walang Tag Heuer Speedmaster. You might be referring to the Omega Speedmaster or the Tag Heuer Carrera.

The watch that's best for you depends on your personal preference and your wrist size.

I would say that the most iconic chronographs are the Omega Speedmaster and Rolex Daytona. The Daytona is way beyond your budget (street price is about $20k now). The Speedmaster though fits right in your $5k budget.

Among the Speedmasters, the most iconic is the Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, because it's the same watch that the Apollo 11 crew wore when they landed on the moon.

Personally, while I appreciate its heritage, I feel that it's too big for my wrist (I have a 6.25" wrist). The 42mm diameter and 49mm lug-to-lug length of the Speedy Pro makes it protrude past my wrist. There are smaller Speedmasters available like the 40mm Speedmaster Racing.

Aside from the Speedmaster, you can also look at the IWC Pilot Chrono 3717 which is also within your budget. Again, it's quite big (43mm) so it's not my type but it might be yours. I prefer the smaller, non-chrono IWC Pilot Mark XVIII (40mm).

Since you mentioned it, there's also the Tag Heuer Carrera Chrono Calibre 16. Retails for about $4k so it's cheaper than the other options but personally it's not that iconic of a watch.

What brand of watch do you wear? [Merged]
