Hey guys, might not be the proper forum to ask on, but I'll give it a shot.

I have an 8gb USB which works perfectly fine until earlier. Here's what happened...

    1. I used a USB connector to connect it to my galaxy tab earlier to transfer movies, it worked fine. I accidentally pulled it out without safely removing the device. Next time I plugged it in, it shows "high power USB device connected" then it wont read my USB at all.

    2. I plugged it in on my PC, it wont read my USB too! I tried uninstalling the driver for the USB and reinstalling it again but it didn't solve the problem. It appears on my computer as removable disk j: but it when i click it, it shows "please insert disk..."

What can I do now? I have important files on my flash drive so I can't reformat it. Are there any other ways to retrieve back my files? Or at least let my usb work again?

    Thanks!

try to access it using linux or macOS. baka kaya hindi mo ma access is dahil na corrupt yung file allocation table.
pag walang way, try mo i reformat, tapos try mo i-recover yung files.
ang important is ma access mo muna yung disk.

I think thats what happened. It works ok before on my windows pc even w/o plugging it off safely, dun lang talaga sa tablet nagloko nung nahila ko ng di nassafely remove.

I tried reformatting it earlier, couldn't happen kasi di naman ma-read.

Yep yun important bro, yung kailangan ko maaccess. Ano kaya chances na gumana to sa mac OS? Thanks btw!

Gusto ko na nga itapon galaxy tab ko sa sobrang inis, yan kasi cause kung bakit ayaw tuloy gumana ng USB ko ngayon.

*1D4LV : Say my usb works on mac os (hopefully) are there any chances that I can use it again on my windows PC? or considered as trash na tong usb ko? thanks again!

try to access it sa control panel> administrative tools> computer management> Storage> Disk Defragmenter or Disk Management

pag di madetect wala na corrupted na talaga.

reformat mo na para magamit pa uli.

Yup di madetect diyan, stickers. Ang sabi, no media found. But when I check my computer, and plug the device in, J: appears. Then when I unplug it, it disappears. Problem is, when i click on J:, it says please insert drive.

Looks like the USB is now corrupted Hopefully what 1D4LV said works, if not... f*ck samsung. And never ever dare to plug your USB device on a samsung tablet... too risky!

so gusto mo itapon yung galaxy tab because you didn't have enough patience to safely remove it by following correct protocol? chances are you corrupted the disk na when you interrupted an ongoing I/O operation. hindi naman considered trash na yan, you can still reformat that flash drive but consider your data gone.

once again, if you don't want to blame yourself, finger should be pointed at Android instead of Touchwiz (or the hardware) by Samsung. i hope this teaches you to respect proper protocol when removing USB storage devices.

I wasnt serious, come on. Im not stupid to throw my tablet away.

And natanggal siya from connection accidentally, i didnt remove it on purpose. **** happens i guess haha

Anyway, how can i reformat it? When i format it on my computer it says the actions cannot be done since the disk cant be read. Ok lang pala, i didnt lose much of my data... I remembered i had some of it back upped somewhere... Though i lost some. Thanks btw

*shadow: Pero still, android > iOS hehehe
