Xiaomi PH officially launches the mi 8, starting at around 26K for the base variant, one of the cheapest Snapdragon 845 phones in the market today. Sulit to, but I don't really like their UI, plus may notch pa.

EU just penalized google for $5 billion for including their own apps on Android. This might mean Google would now have to charge for the Android in the future and it won't be free anymore.

Some of those apps are base apps and necessary especially after a factory reset. That's why you can disable it but not uninstall. Users that are not that techy would have a hard time setting up after a factory reset without those base apps like play store. Or the default browser. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
You are probably thinking of bloatware that are bundled by the OEM themselves, such as those by Sony, Samsung, Huawei, HTC, etc. Android itself is pretty lean.
But that’s besides the point. One of the issues why Google is being slapped with viloating antitrust laws is in the way they bundle their search engine. Their terms and conditions stipulates that for OEMs to be able to legally include the Google PlayStore app (the importance of which cannot be overstated enough) with their phones/tablets, they must agree to also include ONLY Google Search and block other search engines.
Thats the point of EU, restoring it to factory default automatically install all these googles products why not give the users a free hand to uninstall some of it. Uninstalling apps a user seldom use will offer more space for the system to work more efficiently for those who dont like to buy devices with hefty ROMs.
Thats unfair competition, hopefully this EU decision will help bring about change with all android offerings

Game of Small players vs Big Player (google). Small Players want bigger market share, complain to government that Big Player is monopolizing market. Government steps in to referee, makes decision in favor of the Small Players. Good for Small Players. Bad for Big Player. Consumers? Only time will tell if its good or bad for the consumers.
