Samsung Galaxy A8 with its super-cool flip camera is now available

No SD card slot and no 3.55mm port. It seems Samsung is following the footstep of other brands. They are willing to give up their advantage on other brands. The rumor is note 10 won't have headphone jack too.

pricing is 31000 more or less. it comes with 128gb which is plenty even if you record 4k videos.

wireless bluetooth arent so expensive nowadays.

the only reason most tech sites talk about the 3.5mm port is that they want internet traffic to their site.

My oneplus doesn't have SD card slot but I still wish I had one, I put most of my files that I consider permanent on SD card. That's my preference.

And I also use Bluetooth most of the time. But it doesn't last the whole day so I have a wired backup. Again, my preference.

Good thing about Android is there are options available for every preference. Hope they can do what Xiaomi is doing, half of their phones have those options and half doesn't. So you can just buy what you prefer.

Also doesn't make sense that the bigger note 10 won't have 3.55mm port while the smaller s10 have.

What's the advantage of having an SD Card and Headphone Jack?

S10 will be the last flagship with a headphone jack, and Samsung even gave away free wireless earbuds for those who pre-ordered.

SD Cards are slow and unreliable... Did anyone check if their using a U3 or A1 SD Card before plugging it to their phones? Did anyone actually use the adoptive storage feature of Android for SD Cards?

If people are buying the S10 because of the headphone jack, then why isn't it the #1 phone in the market?

Sana maisip ng Apple na palitan na din ng USB-C yung lightning port nila...

... may 3.5mm jack pa ba ang mga kotse ngayon (2019 models)?

    Samsung sells you the screen...

Same formula na ginaya ng Google with the Pixel 3a.

    OLED screen + good camera

It's not just about the specs anymore. It's the experience with the phone.

Talagang ang daming phones with great specs at a lower prices than most flagships today but they just don't feel the same. Parang may kulang or something para sa akin kaya I'm still not drawn to them.

    i agree.
the specs may look great on paper. but they just don't seem to work... seamlessly... or they don't feel suave on the hand.

Sa dami ng options ngayon na magagandang smart phones at madami din bumibili in all walks of life kahit ang mahal (di na kaya ng budget basta latest kahit utang go lang)..I still choose the mid range phones.. I don't spend too much time sa phone ang importante lang sakin ay gumana lang basic need ko gps, mobile data, messages/messenger, phone call at tsikot/tapatalk ok na ako.. [emoji4]

May time lang na I'm in need of good camera sana to capture a moment kapag ako lang mag-isa.. Dun ko nari-realize na sayang poor quality ang picture.. Hehehe

Kapag sa travel, asa lang ako sa mga kasama ko sa pictures and videos.. Mas pabor pa nga sakin kasi I can enjoy every moment without bothering that I need to capture this and capture that..

Sa perspective ko lang (opinion ko lang ha pero nakaka appreciate naman ako how great the technology is)... More on status symbol na din smart phones, same din sa wristwatch.. Di na talaga mawawala sa first impression talagang iisipin mo na "wow capable sya to buy a luxury brand" then respect follows.. hehehehe [emoji4] na yun naman ang impression samin na oks lang sa midrange na mapapa-"ay! yan lang phone nya" ang poor nya... Hahahaha [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

Ako lang ba, but I can't distinguish a high end, mid range or low end phone. Pag Samsung, di ko alam ano ang note, galaxy, j or a series. Basta sakin I buy the latest flagship because I want it to last a looonggg time.

I can live without the SD card since you can easily transfer files from phone to other storage like laptop.

However, the 3.5mm headphone jack is still a very good feature in a phone imho because you don't need to charge the headset unlike the bluetooth ones. Having the option to use either wired or wireless sound systems is, I think a luxury which most phone should still have without the use of a USB-C donggle. It's just profit making imho. A few mm of thickness/width wouldn't hurt the functinality or aesthetics of a premium phone. After all, most premium phones are now almost in the phablet size.

That's why Google added the 3.55mm back on their mid range. The reason according to them? "mid range users needs more flexibility". Translation these cheap bastards can't afford bluetooth headphones so they need headphone jack for their cheap earphones [emoji23] just tells you they have space for the jack.

Again my argument the smaller s10 has a headphone jack while the bigger brother note 10 has no space? [emoji23]

Yes, but you mentioned it was "your preference"

I'm sure OEMs made a study, had focus groups and researchers before they decided not to include the 3.5mm jack (for their flagships at least)

Samsung tried... But an iPhone user won't switch to Android just because the S10 has a 3.5mm jack.

I remember listening to Google's head of hardware on this one... according to "their research" those who buy "mid-range" devices use wired earphones

Personally, (I maintain an iPad Mini for this) the only time I need the 3.5mm jack is when using my iRig

Reminds me of oneplus CEO having a poll on Twitter if users want a headphone jack or not. 88% of 19k participants answered yes they want the jack. But oneplus still removed it.
