Liking OnePlus 5T so far. My 1st Android phone na stock ROM yet very smooth. No bloatwares and really close to pure Android. Unfortunate that it has no expandable storage (sayang 128GB microSD ko) but I'll just periodically backup/transfer files to Google Drive or to my PC.

Nice! How is it? I'm guessing sobrang fluid ng software. I pre-ordered the XZ2 naman, perfect sana yung 5 inch 2:1 screen ng compact kaso turned off ako sa polycarbonate back tska mas mataba siya sa regular XZ2.

Ang tipid ng freebies sa PH, you only get a relatively cheap BT headphones, sa Europe either PS4, PS4 VR or yung bagong High Res headphones nila worth $400 din.

The 1st one was the budget friendly xperia l which is still with me and then an xperia m4 aqua was given to me by my mom but it was returned when i got a new phone months ago kaya relieved din ako after ilang years eh.

In my experience, both phones become laggy after some time of use. Maybe it is due to the small ram and internal memory kaya ganun. Puros internet lang naman ginagawa ko. Cameras were also inferior than other phones, especially the m4 aqua. But both of them have good battery lives for my use though it could have been better. Ok pa ang walkman/music app na standard sa mga xperia models vs. the standard ones of other phones. Tsaka since hindi naman sya hotcakes sa karamihan ng tao, may unique na dating parin ang xperia sakin.

Sana nga lang improvin pa ng sony yan kase when i look at the reviews sa gsm and they compare their equivalent flagship to an s7, s8 or iphone 8, etc. madalas laging last spot parin siya sa mga comparison tests nila kaya i can't help but feel dull about it although if I'm about to buy one again, hindi ko naman magiging basehan yun sa aking pagpili.

I used to be a sony fan kasi and my family have their appliances. Aside from their phones, merong playstations, tvs, cameras and radios sa home namin pero puro luma na mga ito, not the latest ones.
Ako naman, di ko bina base yung buying decisions ko sa mga reviews. Matatawa ka na nga lang, other independed reviewers mas lamang naman para sa kanila Xperia especially sa camera tests. The M4 aqua is a midrange phone anyway, ang highlight niya lang naman dati is affordable water resistant phone. Also, 2015 was quite a bad year for Qualcomm, yung Snapdragon 615 at 810 sobrang bilis at napaka init kahit Facebook at Youtube lang.

I was thinking of getting the S9 after having 3 flagship Xperias, na curious ako sa variable aperture pero pag low light given the right conditions mas ok pa results ng f2.0 lens ng Sony kesa sa f1.5 ng Samsung. Check GSMArena's Galaxy S9 and XZ2 shootout.

Also, most reviewers and commenters complain about the lack of carrier availability, siyempre most people would want to get their phone from the carrier na kasama ng plan nila.

If camera lang ang habol sa phone, then i would suggest getting a point & shoot camera like the cybershot or a true dslr camera, especially if you're into photography because of course, they are used in taking pictures. I could recall that there are some cameras that allow the transfer of files directly to the phone so it would be easy uploading from there. The advantage of smartphones these days eh karamihan ng consumers would also use it for surfing and taking pictures or selfies, aside from the usual communication through calls or sms.

Regarding the cameras of smartphones though, I've heard that the iphone 7 despite having only 12mp, still has better quality than the flagship xperia before that has 23mp. Don't know if this is true kasi i don't have an iphone nor the flagship xperia eh.

May SLR ako. Mas madalas pa rin magamit ang camera phone because you have it with you all the time.

Mukha akong tanga if I bring my SLR everywhere. Way too big. That's why I'm planning to buy a mirrorless camera, but that's still one extra device to bring around.

same here. more on convenience na kasi ngayon....

ako naman i'm not interested sa camera ng phone. i'm more sa bluetooth codec that it supports na mag match sa wireless headphone ko. you will ask why not buy a DAP? i do have pero yun nga eh, dagdag bitbit ulit. less clutter din kasi no more dangling wires. convenient for me esp kapag long flights.

Yup sabi nga nila, the best camera is the one you have with you. Hands down, it takes better pictures specially if I use prime lenses for portraits. I think it has been years since I last used it. Hassle lang to always bring it, then download pictures to the laptop, then upload to whatever social media. Mas convenient na talaga using the phone camera instead.

Yung SLR ko naman may phone connectivity so nililipat ko lang to my phone then derecho IG. But the bulk of the camera itself is already a hassle. [emoji58]

That's not my point kasi hehe. I also have a Sony mirrorless camera but I don't bring it everyday. True, hassle free maglipat ng photos from the alpha to my xperia wirelessly. Ok siya pag nagttravel, mahirap kung dala mo araw araw.

What I'm trying to tell is Xperias are not entirely lagging behind the competition. In daylight, the 23MP IMX300 sensor has the best details if you're fond of pixel-peeping. While major review sites complain about everything, iba pa din kapag ikaw mismo nasubukan mo, kaya I suggest everyone to try it themselves instead of getting conclusions from "reputable" reviews.

I think irreversible ang image retention ng OLED displays, grabe yung image retention ng mga demo units, yung S6 Edge ng aunt ko as in bakat keyboard sa screen whichever page or app you open. That's also one of the reasons why I'm less inclined on getting a Galaxy. But I think MicroLED will fix that soon.

Convenience nadin kasi talaga ang smartphone, especially since may wifi or data network that will give you access through the internet na, along with other features as well. Kumbaga, parang all-in-one. A swiss army knife or a jack of all trades in that sense.

Kaya ko lang dinala yung topic about the cameras is because somehow, many reviewers or users rate competitive smartphones based on the specs of their built-in cameras. Not all pero karamihan, i guess. Hindi lang naman kasi yun ang function ng smartphones eh pero with regards to this, i observed that many students in college actually use their phones na to take pictures of their notes and obviously, selfies as well hehehe.

So i also said din that even though these smartphones have great cameras, then true dslr cameras would still perform better because its their main purpose; taking pictures. That's why photographers still use them after all kahit hassle nga lang dalhin, although they will also use their smartphones to capture some pictures because of the convenience it offers.

I feel that in the future, maybe modern smartphones will eventually lead to the extinction of these point-and-shoot, slr and dslr cameras once their built-in cameras get the ability to perform like those of the dslrs, although some cameras will remain like those used for filming or professional shooting, etc.

Ahh ok i get your point. Weird kasi ang mga reviews ngayon. Parang most of the time, they'll just rate a phone na lang based on the specs of their cameras eh there are other functions naman kaya yun. I mentioned true cameras are still better in taking pictures.

Sana lang din in the future, mag-improve pa ang sony sa specs ng xperia para maging worthy pa ang price tag niya, like yung midrangers. Sana mataas na ang memory at ram, as well as more, better camera para sulit din, tulad ng mga smartphones from taiwan or china. ☺

i bring two iphones with me all the time. the first is solely smartphone use, and the other one is dedicated solely for camera and music. yun 2nd iphone ko nga lagi naka-airplane mode eh, kahit wala naman ako sa plane.

when in travel, the first one is for photo. the second one is for video.

    yan media workflow para efficient.

Would be smarter and cheaper to just bring a power bank instead of another phone that does not have a SIM card ...
