I'm not sure about the ROOT part, but I'm pretty sure that you need to have an unlocked bootloader in order to flash a custom kernel.
And, if you're going to unlock your bootloader, might as well ROOT the phone while you're at it.

so i can simply unlock the bootloader to flash a kernel? ayaw ko sana mag root. hindi pa ako ready

what do i do after i unlock the bootloader?
