LG Optimus G Pro finally rolling out to rest of Asia this June
by David Gonzales on May 30, 2013 7:42 am
Did you know that LG‘s current flagship Android smartphone, the 5.5-inch Optimus G Pro, still hasn't been made available in Asia outside of South Korea? Indeed it hasn't, at least not officially, that is. But soon that will no longer be the case, as LG plans on releasing the said handset starting today.
The LG Optimus G Pro, which was recently rated by Consumer Reports as better than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 overall, will be made available in places like Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Philippines throughout June of this year. By the end of the month, it will likely be officially available in all of Asia's biggest mobile markets and then some.
We posted our Optimus G Pro review (with video) a couple of months back, and we know that it's a formidable flagship Android handset through and through. If you can get around the size issue — or if you can somehow get used to it — it will definitely be able to serve you well.
Below, I've embedded our LG Optimus G Pro review for your viewing pleasure. The relevant press statement from LG for its Asian release follows.
those days are over dude. people here complain about the iphone being better than android when all they've experienced with android are entry to mid level models. the iPhone is a premium model so to be fair you only compare it to premium Android models. the iPhone was surpassed last year and they are now playing catch up. let's see what Jony Ive comes up with in the next iteration if he can refresh the now-stale-iOS.

HTC T6 to battle Galaxy Note 3 with standout specs » Phone ReviewsHTC T6 to battle Galaxy Note 3 with standout specs
Date: May 31st, 2013
There are many consumers looking forward to the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 later this year, but it seems the device won’t be having things all its own way this time around in the phablet market as an HTC T6 is rumoured to battle the device with some standout specs.
Samsung is set to unveil its new phablet device in September but there are growing rumours that HTC is about to offer a similar sized device in the coming months that will build on the success of the HTC One.
Serial tipsters *evleaks took to The Unlockr to provide details on the yet to be announced HTC T6, and the device is expected to come with a 5.9 Full HD touchscreen display just like the Galaxy Note 3. The device will have a stylus but with a more premium feel to it that would include an ultra thin tip capable of a number of things.
The device will supposedly feature the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that will also have expansion capabilities thanks to microSD card support.
It is believed the device will be basically a larger version of the HTC One and will be a similar move that Samsung has made with the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note devices in the past. The HTC T6 will also have BoomSound speakers with an UltraPixel rear facing camera, while around the front there is claimed to be a 2.1-megapixel unit with a wide angle lens.
HTC looks to be taking care of battery life on the device with a 3,300 mAh unit inside the handset along with a protective case that will provide an extra 1250 mAh power plant. Another rumoured feature of the handset is a fingerprint reader that will be placed on the rear of the device so when a user picks the handset up it will automatically unlock.
While this is only rumours it looks like consumers will have some interesting choices to make later this year.
Do you like the sound of the HTC T6?

Starmobile Knight: 4.7-inch HD IPS Corning Gorilla Glass Display, Quad-core CPU, 18-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras

Starmobile announced their own set of quad-core android phones in hopes of competing with top players such as MyPhone and Cherry Mobile. Check out more details after the break.
Starmobile Knight is the most impressive Starmobile to date and that’s largely because of its quad-core processor and stellar camera. These days people are looking for smartphones awesome cameras and while we currently have top notch quality from the Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 and MyPhone A919i Duo, there’s always room for improvement.
One thing that I first noticed is that it somehow looks similar to the iPhone 5, having the same shape which Apple fans would quickly notice. So if you really love the Apple iPhone 5 but wished that it runs on Android instead, the Starmobile Knight is one good option.
The Starmobile Knight has a quad-core processor and that means it will be smooth unlike the Starmobile Diamond which struggled in handling the HD resolution because of its weaker MT6577 dual-core processor. The Knight also comes with 1GB RAM for efficient multitasking.
It will also have a HD IPS Display that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass making it tough enough to endure some beating.
However, the main attraction on the Knight lies on the camera. It has an 18-megapixel BSI rear camera and 8-megapixel front-facing camera which is the best in the local market right now. But, it’s not all about the number of pixels so we still need to see some sample shots before we make a conclusion.
