I saw his ad on ebay ph (http://www.ebay.ph/viItem?ItemId=280129600441) under na seller’s name “bksyiaco” selling 2nd hand o2 xda atom. Based on what I read, he had positive feedbacks, so I was quite convinced that this is not bogus. I contacted him thru mobile phone (jul 6, 2007) which is posted on the same site.
    His details:
Cel No: 09278344014//Bon Kimber Syiaco//232 Benigno Aquino Ave, Manduarriao, Ilo-ilo city.
I tried to asked for a discount at the price of PhP 13000 with the original price of PhP17000. We both agreed that I would pay 13300. I paid him 13300 pesos (jul 6, 2007) thru globe gcash on the same day. He asked for another 500, I paid him the next day (jul 7, 2007). After that, he was nowhere to be found. I phoned him but the person on the other line told me that its not his number, and that the phone is redirected to him.

Mga pre, baka may makakatulong sa kin dyan... Thanks!

Medyo nag-research ako tungkol sa taong ito... di pala sya taga Ilo-ilo province, dito lang pala sya sa manila. Taga La Salle tong taong to, di ko lang alam kung graduate na sya.

OT Lang, it's a violation of eBay rules to contact seller and haggle off-line... Kaya nga auction eh... That's why eBay doesn't allow that because of these kinds of transactions.

Yeah, ur right, its not advisable (as per ebay) to haggle offline, I was just tempted, since the contact no (mobile number) was also posted on the site. Haay, 'have to learn the hard and expensive way.

Available ang PAYPAL dito, I've been using it for several years already.

Even PAYPAL isn't a scam-proof way of transacting as indicated in numerous fraud claims in eBay (and other auction sites) in the US.

Best way to transact is through credit card so that you can file a claim

hold the money through globe or report it at globe, they can facilitate something i guess.

its much safer to wire the payment, its one thing i ask when i buy stuff at ebay.ph or bidshot.com, at least i could be able to contact the bank and freeze their account in a way coz i have friends who work on the bank, and i keep my online buying to minimum, unless i meet up with the person personally in a mall or a public place.

so far, i have good encounters with the stuff i bought and sell online.

U're all right mga bro ... dumarami na tlaga ang mga masasamang tao sa mundo... it's ok to transact business online, kaya lang pag money is involved na, dapat talaga extra careful. Its just so sad that I have to learn it the hard way... But I do believe, he will never prosper, and he'll learn his lesson (the hardest way possible)... I firmly believe.

Globe will probably have records of where the G-Cash was spent or transferred. But I doubt if they will give it to you easily. A police report won't hurt either.

Thats the problem with e-cash. Not even Smart or Globe can help you with this. Happened to a friend of mine who was buying second hand PS2 for his kid. Tried contacting Globe but they could not do anything, cash has been released to the crook.
