yung Whirlpool ref ko is around 12 years old or so... it broke once around 5 years ago but was fixed and continues to work well (Unlike my lemon White Westinghouse/Electrolux washing machine). I guess malaking factor din na may voltage surge protector.

We have a new Samsung inverter ref in the new home extension we built for my lola at our family "ancestral" home pero hindi pa nagagamit since lola prefers to stay in her old room.

We have this in the province. Farmall Cub ? View topic - Intenational Harvester Refrigerator

And its still working! Though it consumes quite a lot of electricity.

Puro Condura (patronizing gawang pinoy) na ref sa bahay, both here and back home in the fatherland

^ Bagay na bagay sa Scout ah.

Yeah, even if an appliance lasts well over ten years or so, it's still good to upgrade after a while as the newer ones are more energy efficient.

Ref namin ngayon (Condura) is almost 15 years old (first Christmas bonus purchase ko pa ata). It survived more than 5 house moves. Ok pa naman pero I suspect it's one of the kuryente hogs in the house. Mahirap din kasi i-justify springing for a new one if the old one is still working unless proven talaga ang ROI based on consumption. Makabili nga ng metro para ma-check.

    - matibay
    - two-door
    - energy efficient
    - 7-8 cubic ft
    - budget is 15-18K.

    Thanks!

samsung inverter series, try western home appliance if you are persistent they may give you (1) discoutn and (2) stretch the apyment terms.

Salamat sir! Itong inverter type nga din ang gusto ko pero sana mapilit si kumander sa new technology. Iba pa din daw reliability ng old compressor type refs. May nakita kasi sa mall na Kelvinator na two-door, frost freezer, at old compressor type.

Old post but based on my replacement of my aircons, it's worth the change to a new, more efficient appliance for the biggies that are often used (such as the ref, and the aircons). This year, i knocked off at least P1000 per month just by changing two a/c (similar HP to the old ones).

I'm already seriously considering to change my old suicide door Whirlpool to a Samsung or Panasonic inverter ref. What's holding me back lang is that I'm moving houses sometime next year so i may decide to wait it off first.
