*jonski: too much for a low-end but short for a mid-range. If you go to an appliance store today, I'm sure you'd be able to buy a good one with your budget but I'd really urge you to add 10k more to that so you'd get at least an inverter panasonic. It'll be more cost effective in the long run.

*Retz: Usually, good brands offer 5yr warranty on their compressor. LG offers 10years for their Linear Compressor (and Inverter DD washing machines).

doon sa lumang bahay namin meron pa, 34 yrs. na siya. ilang baha na inabot non pero ok pa din. eto yung tipong pag walang kang suot tsinelas e maga-ground ka sa handle.

It's actually a good one bro (iyong freezer ang sa ilalim)....

Bought one 3-4 years(?) ago... No regrets so far.... Nagho-hold pa naman ang ref handle...

Thanks! Mas efficient (apparently) ang LG linear compressor kaso 120k is too much over a ref for me. I also liked the drawer type bottom-freezer.

May pros and cons din ang French door ref (bottom freezer). Nagkakapatong-patong mga items like chest-type freezer.

Yung side-by-side ref naman, makitid ang freezer, di kasya malapad na items.

Bili na Lang kayo ng stand alone na chest freezer meron na ako nakikita na maliliit na size Sa mga appliance centers. Doon na lang mga meats. Then Sa main fridge niyo mga ice cream and yun hindr madudumi ilagay Sa freezer niya

Saw a couple of my friends who bought SMEG ref. Uso yata ito ngayon, pero old school look, parang nirefurbish na lumang ref.

The SMEG looks nice if you're into retro or hippie style but I never buy because of looks. I'm okay with Panasonic looking like a giant cabinet although I would have preferred that it be covered with glass over piano black finish.

The problem with SMEG is that in a matter of time, one of your kids will put "MA" next to the badge.

If you'd like to add 10K to that, meron ka nang Inverter Panasonic na bottom drawer type ang freezer. Make sure to get the one na LED lit, yun ang mas bago. Although in my opinion, pareho lang sila nung pinalitan nyang model na lamp naman..

If Anson will give you like 5k in discounts sa lamp-lit, you should take it tapos palitan mo na lang ng LED yung ilaw.

I'm not sure kung Inverter-Eco Navi na yun, but if you can get that, mas ok un may Eco Navi. Ito yung may AI logic. It learns and adopts to your usage.

Ok sana yung technology ng LG na Linear compressor kaso equipped models start at 129K. I don't think I'll ever buy a ref that expensive (although I'm open to gifts). hehe

As a guide, mas ok ang ref na matsushita (panasonic) ang compressor (kahit mga 3rd party contractors, ito sinasabi).
+1 on Panasonic Inverter refrigerators. The savings in electricity should be able to pay for the cost of the unit over time. The simple 2 door (bottom drawer type freezer) 16 cu feet sells for around P42k ata. Then a separate freezer for meat products as shadow mentioned.

we have the 8 cu.ft. Samsung inverter ref ... my energy meter says it consumes just 830 Wh/day (at mid-settings), which translates to less than P300/mo of electric bill

no idea on durability coz it is only 2 months old, but i can tell you it has already encountered several brownouts without problems
