I guess, natakot siguro ang game makers na gawin masyado sophisticated since not everyone can and/or will buy a proper steering wheel like Momo just for their game. So to accommodate a larger market, ginawa nila arcade style, yun nga lang, boring na.

Iba kasi ang racing sims. Iba ang feel. Iba lahat. Like a month ago, I was driving down the seaside highways of Camiguin Island in a Civic FD MT. Akala ko bigla nasa Porsche Unleashed scenery ako lalo na nung sunrise na. May race track kasi doon by the seaside. Galing talaga ng physics ng game na yun, super close sa real thing.
Yep yun nga. NFSS is very different from NFSU, NFSU2, NFSMW, NFSC, NFSPS and NFSUC. Braking is a must in the game lest you want to end up on the sand, especially for heavier cars and FF/AWD cars prone to understeer. Floor the accelerator out of a corner too early and you'll be spinning in no time.

It's still not an all-out sim, but hey, it's made by SimBin, makers of GTR and Race 07. And they got their handling quite right and much better than the others.

I'm starting to sound like an NFS fanboy here but seriously, Shift changed my perception on the franchise. It's not ricer anymore, it's racer. When I got this game I was pretty skeptical about it, since Pro Street and Undercover were total pieces of crap that I didn't even bother to finish them, but this game has got me driving for hours.

My main problem with the all out sims is they often have mediocre graphics and a lot of the cars are fictional (rFactor). :|

That's because accurate or at least believable physics takes a lot of computer power.

FSX and X-Plane 9 may lack some in the eye candy department unlike Ace Combat. But, I prefer the perceived accuracy of the two sims over Ace Combat's graphics.

    Oh. Merry Christmas!

I also think there isn't enough funding for sims to get licenses of real cars. I mean, we all know that arcade style games are more marketable.

Sigh, if there was a sim with as much detail and excellence in sound, graphics and every other aspect of a racing game as NFS Shift combined with realistic physics, I'd gladly snap that up.

Or. Perhaps some DRIVING game like Test Drive Unlimited with realistic physics as well :D

    Merry Christmas!

There's German Sim Mod Foundation and other mod teams if you want better graphics (provided your computer can run their high detail models). They also do physics mods, licensed car models and real life tracks. They are completely free, well, actually donation based.

It just takes a bit of an effort to mod Rfactor and other hardcore sim games.

    some of their mods:

uuggh i think my video card can't take race 07, as after the loading process a BSOD appears then it will be restarted.. kakainis naman mukhang maganda ang race 07.. hindi ko kasi maintindihan kung pano yung race na with oppnents on starting grip eh, kasi yung "race weekend" eh dun ka magsisimula then yung kalaban mo nagsimula na kanina pa. unlike sa race 07 na you can choose to race in a real competition, say, F1, Formula BMW, F3000, Grand touring etc.. sa rFactor din naman pag click ko sa "Race a Season" walang lumabas..

You mean for the pc. I've always thought the NASCAR and F1 series for the pc had at least enough physics to make them believable ever since they first came out in the early 90's.

But, hardcore simulations are an endangered species. They get fewer and fewer every year. Oh well.

    look what i found, http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=33969

seems that G25 users do not use full 900deg. of wheel rotation lol samantalang tayo, dreaming to have a wheel capable of 900deg rotation. what a world

cmr dirt tweaks habang wala pang gumagawa ng richard burns rally 2.
imo, the physics are very close to rbr when tweaked to 10% less grip and 0% braking. and its nice to get rid of all that bloom too.

    http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/ar...p/t-12242.html

di ko lang alam kung pwede rin sa dirt 2.

speaking of RBR 2, rFactor 2 is under development na daw sabi ng ISI.. hmmmm..

    happy new year everyone!

I made an 8 sec increase in lap time with the Formula BMW of LFS when I stopped using my shift stick and used the paddle instead.

    Nabawasan rin spin-outs ko.

For this type of car dapat talaga hindi halos bumibitaw sa manibela at kung 2 hands parang nag-o-oppose cya to lessen sudden steering. 900 deg rotation definitely not needed na rin. Clutch? When starting to move an F1 lang kailangan ang clutch. Higher gear no more clutching needed.

So if your sticking with these types of car (Formulas), MOMO lang pedeng-pedeng na, or even a lower model na walang shift stick basta may paddle. Kung may stick ka na it can be used as a hand brake when you consider drifting.

    ^ ano steering wheel mo?

yan din naisip ko eh, not much needed na ang 900deg rotation, kasi kung i apply sa real life scenario, nagagamit lang lahat ng 2 1/2 turns sa mga parking parking and stuff. not while driving (fast).

but i guess you need it for drifting though

Maski nga un Formula Force EX(lower model than MOMO) eh ayus na rin. May mga review sa Youtube na the more expensive models like Driving Force GT at G25/27 ay not worth it na.

Im looking for a replacement for the generic wheel Im using right now. Intay lang ako ng konti malamang mahal price naun after the holidays. Sa end of the month sana bumaba na.

I didnt notice during my 1 hr demo time in rFactor if the AIs were crashing. Parang hindi. Sa Volvo the Game 1 out-of 10+ AIs were crashing. Thats not enough to win you a race, lol!

Kaya iba pa rin online environment. Real players makes mistakes unlike AI kaya may chance ka pa rin maski hindi ka pa ganung kabilis kung maingat ka lang u can still grab the top spot once in a while.

    Sana magkapag-race tau lahat online!
