been using Owndays for the longest time, ever since they opened a shop in Singapore.

around Dec 2024 - had issues with my Owndays frames and needed a replacement - also found out how annoying it is to ask Owndays Manila for help if something goes wrong with your glasses

Looking around Mall of Asia - Owndays didn't have any frame available to suit the shape of my face. So I went to Sunnies. Their doctor told me that my Owndays Spectacles has a very good (progressive) lens and that I will need to shell out around 20K as using a cheaper lens will be difficult for me.

Since I found 20K to be too much (I remember only paying around 10K for Owndays), I decided to walk around and found the perfect frame at Executive Optical. They have an "in-house" lens which is not only cheap, it also has a wider area for near vision.

1 month later, I find it weird that I have to wipe my EO Spectacles more than twice a day as it easily gets smudged even if I don't touch it. Compared to my experience with Owndays where my specs could last more than a week without wiping! I can even wipe with using my shirt! EO needs a microfiber cloth!

    question:

since It's the first time I'm having this issue with smudge and dust on my spectables. Is this what the Sunnies' doctor was saying about "cheaper lenses?"

here's a photo of my new glasses. sa part na yan, almost twice a day may parang dumi na kailangan ko wipe palagi.

Would you know if your previous lenses were high-index lenses (thinner)? If so, check if these new ones have the same index. If not, they could be cheaper because they are regular index lenses hence, thicker. This could explain why these new lenses would touch your brows/face.

hmmm, not very sure. the lenses are definitely not touching my face. only issue I have is that they frequently smudge even without touching them.

My concern before was the frame becomes loose and it slides down hence I always push it back up. The shop adjusted (tightened the screw[?]) the frame and offered me eye glass stopper. It really works and can be used with any frames.
