If I were to recommend a router nowadays, it'll be hard as I'm an advanced user.

Currently using Asus RT-66U since 2013 (RT-N66U - Networking - ASUS) and I'm so far happy with it (which is a lot considering my needs). I had to replace it as I'm usually transferring files from one to another via use of wireless networks and my DDWRT-flashed Linksys WRT54G was slow in moving 1080p movies.

^ medyo mahal bili ko, P4k+ ata yun, sa mall kasi nabili

kumpara sa dating router namin DI-524, mas maganda range nya (but its not a good comparison kasi magkaibang class sila) ... better penetration sa concrete walls

iba iba pa ba ang penetration capabilities ng different brands of routers given same specs?

^ afaik, penetration capability is largely dependent on the rf circuit of the router, its power transmitted and sensitivity of antenna (for reception) for the operating frequency ... the info is not usually disclosed by manufacturers ... two routers may have same specs (e.g. N300) but they may use different rf circuit, hence differing penetration performance

Wifi N has better penetration than Wifi G for the same wall density.

Saved me a couple of bucks...which i will be needing for some flood damage :p
