The Intel GMA chipset should be compatible with many games. What that list doesn't show is how smooth those games will be, especially the more graphic-intensive ones. Even brute force from the two cores may not be enough to compensate for a relatively slow video chipset.

If you're a casual gamer, it isn't all bad with Intel. There are enough excellent older games that play well enough to the point you probably won't miss newer games at all.

yep... if you just want to play games, an Intel GMA would be fine (like me), but if you are meticulous about the graphics, nvidia or ati has a solution.

Actually, I don't see any big difference among ATI, nVidia, and Intel except in games. ATI and nVidia have better OpenGL and Direct 3D than Intel's solutions. For most people, this means games.

It's nice to have the faster ATI and nVidia video chipsets. But when the price of the laptop almost doubles because of those chipsets, sometimes I think it's not worth it especially when the video chipset becomes obsolete in such a short time. There are laptops with upgradable video. But, you'll have to pay an awful lot for it.

Best keep hardcore gaming on a desktop pc or a game console. I've seen kids with $3k-$4k laptops just for gaming and I just have to shake my head.

Nice! How about a pic? Shouldn't the video be the GMA950 with the Core 2 Duo? Just wondering..... The GMA950 should be quite improved gamewise from the GMA945. If that was mine, I'd up the ram to 2GB or something. Otherwise, it's a great laptop.

T5500.... great for video-editing and encoding.

usong; mura nyan ah. one of my choices yan. kaso di ganyan kamura at walang bundled na OS. saka siguro di 12mos to pay yan.

need mo nga ng 3G phone with HSDPA and 3G signal para mabilis ang connection. nasa 300+kbps lang ang 3G. dialup speed lang kung GPRS connection lang, and 200+kbps naman kung meron EDGE signal at EDGE enabled ang phone.

Cheap nga... considering na wala namang masyadong tinubo yung nagbenta...

Pero ang alam ko wala yatang bluetooth installed yan internally... based on specs from suppliers... maaaring dalawa ang variant na nasa Pinas ng A8Fm... 1 with BT the other with no built-in BT installed. Saka naka-bundle po ba yung Asus Optical Mouse & Asus Bag?

For business, I will go for IBM/Lenovo Thinkpads. They may be expensive and boring but I think Thinkpads are the best in terms of durability and reliability.

For fun or general computing, Macs are very nice though

Nice pics! I've been an ASUS fanboy since my first P2 motherboard, the P2L97 (LX Chipset) back in 1997.

My last 2 video cards (GF4-Ti4200, AEX800XL, both with ViVo) have been ASUS and I'd normally have ASUS motherboards, except this pc. ASUS AMD dualcore mobos were sold out at the time I assembled this pc. So I made do with an MSI. Anyway, the bundled software are decent and makes sense, typical ASUS.

As a replacement laptop for my 4-year old HP ze5270, those ASUS dualcores look nice. How's reliability of those ASUS laptops? I'm a bit hesitant still....

best place to try value for money is Cooltoyz near xavier school- tapat ng Masuki Oritgas- YMMV

    ryan,
agreed- default business/professional lappy's are Thinkpad while Macs/Powerbooks take "fashionista" title

For the notebook lovers. :)
