Like what I said earlier, I just read reviews about the phone, so my opinion on the phone will not be as reliable as with the reviews of the owners of the phone. I am posting this para ma-verify na rin sa mga N95 owners kung tama yung sinasabi sa mga reviews (check also www.GSMArena.com). Ride lang din ako sa thread na 'to.
    re: 2mp sensor
are you comparing it to a dedicated digicam that has a 2mp sensor? if so you have to compare apples to apples... a 2mp dedicated digicam's sensor is much bigger than a sensor that is in a cam phone (thus capturing more dynamic range and less noise). if you check out the link i posted above comparing the n95 to other cam phones, a dedicated digicam and a dslr, you could see that the quality is quite good for a cam phone already.

    re: gps
probably true that the built in gps can't be used for other 3rd party apps but then again, i'd rather use a faster SIRF3 unit than the one built in the n95. One of these day's i'll try the N95 with my SIRF3 dedicated gps (Holux GPSlim 240) and see how much better it is than the built in one in the n95.

    re: stylus...

to each his own nga naman... i'm just used to the keyboard and / or the stylus. (and pretty soon my own fingers - iPhone... hehehe)

depends really what your main use for the pda phone is i guess... the main selling point of the BB is the push e-mail technology... which MS has one already for their exchange servers... not too sure how good it is though...

I was able to see an N95 first hand today and here are my impressions, sabi ng reviews flimsy daw yung gawa, like yung slide maluwag daw, too light daw, yung materials na ginamit di daw masyadong matibay...

well for me okay siya, I mean it passed my standards, I just don't know how high my standards are hehehe baka bumaba na dahil sa mga reviews na nabasa ko...

but the N95 did not feel flimsy at all, the slide was also okay, di naman maluwag...reaction time for the apps was okay too...baka wala pa masyadong laman yung nahawakan ko...the promo girl took a picture and hooked up the N95 to a 32inch LCD TV and showed the picture she took...clear naman...I mean after the phone processed the picture and saved it....paglabas sa 32 inch TV, sharp yung picture...

I also tried the speakers on the phone malakas naman...better than the usual phone speakers...pero nung nilagay ko sa 100% volume medyo basag na...upto 80% maganda pa yung music....

sanay din ako sa stylus...dito ako takot, maybe if I change back to a regular "phone style" baka mahirapan ako...we'll see...this is the biggest reason why I am not yet very convinced about the N95...baka sanayan lang ang kailangan...

I was not able to test the GPS and internet...

overall i rate my first impression of the phone at 8.5-9 out of 10

Yung comparison ng CNET on N95, those are really nice pictures. But, aren't those indoor pics already edited and resized? Did they povide a link to the actual raw pics?
Here are some samples of raw and unedited pics (click on thumbnails).
    N95 - http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n95_ca...view-139p2.php
    K810 - http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsso...view-133p4.php
And, it's good that you mentioned that 5MP cam phone pics are not comparable to pics taken from digicams. That's for everybody to keep in mind.

Regarding N95's GPS, I'll wait for your further evaluation on N95's GPS.

Yup, it really depends on what you intend it for. Kung magagamit mo yung mga features ng phones, good buy ito. Pero kung wala masyadong advantage with your old phone or with cheaper competition, I'd have second thoughts.

here are some raw pics i took while playing with it a few days ago (prior to firmware update)... no resize no nothing... straight from the n95 uploaded via wifi with the built in flickr app.

There should be 2 map softwares installed on your machine. One is from Nokia, the other is a 3rd party one (forgot the name) with a built in Manila map if you bought it in the Philippines.

For the Nokia one, you just download the maps from Nokia (But first you have to download the Map Loader application from Nokia) and install it on your phone. The other one I don't really use so I'm not sure how to get maps for that.

I'll definitely keep this in mind.

Pero if you use the Nokia one, who is the one providing the satellite position and coordinates???

Nokia??.....or the provider (Smart, Globe, Sun, etc.)???

Based on the photos posted, the "5MP" is obviously interpolated, there are very little details held in the images and aggressive sharpening was applied for "clarity"... But then again, this isn't a cam... But the 5MP claim is merely for filesize/image dimention increase and not really on the resolution.

If you look at this http://www.mobilmania.cz/uploadedfiles/11262.jpg image, there are virtually no details on the leaves at all, just a bunch of clumped shapes.

The CNet photo comparison is kinda silly, downsized to 800x600, it wouldn't matter much if you use a 2.1MP 5yo digicam vs. a DSLR.

I'm not saying it's poor, but it's definitely marketing overhype to compare it to a dedicated 3MP camera (don't even insult users comparing it to an APS-C sensored camera hehe)

    Take note, as per "need4speed"...

Ginamitan pa ng macro setting yung mga sample pics nya. SE's cam phones score better even if it's just 3MP.

Peace tayo need4speed, i am on the phone and not on your views.

OT: Apple's revolutionary iPhone is coming out June 2007 at $499 (sa US lang though, 2008 in Asia). If you're looking for a new unit think twice. iPhone's tech are all patented - Nokia should better come up with better pricing scheme.

Satellites via GPS provide the coordinates. It doesn't matter what provider you use.

hmm... i don't get it... what does using macro mode have to do with anything? i don't think you fully understand the use of the macro setting.

wow... the leaves have no details at all nga... and i totally agree... as i posted above you have to compare apples to apples. this can't compare to a digicam or dslr. the loss of details is proof enough. the one thing i like about it though is the white balance sensor. it does a pretty good job.
