Posted: 14 Jan 2014, 07:07, by Daniel P.Tags: T-Mobile+ Android+ Sony+
Sony might be getting into the business of bendable smartphones before Samsung or LG, it seems, as a bunch of users are reporting that the metal frame of the flagship Xperia Z1 handset has allegedly bent for no reason, leaving their phone in the state that can be observed in the pictures below. The circumstances vary, but some common theme seems to be heat (from leaving it on the wireless charging dock to using it in the African sun).
Now, there's no way to confirm whether the "bent" effect wasn't also a result from sitting on the phone while in your back pocket, which happens too many times when out on the town, than people care to admit, but it's an interesting phenomenon to observe nonetheless.
We've had no such problems after perusing our office unit for a couple of weeks already in various conditions, and have been thorough fans of the premium feel that the metal and glass design leaves in the eye (and hand) of the beholder. Have you experienced something similar to the situations below with your own Xperia Z1 unit?

Bend-gate..
Apple won't replace bent casings free of charge for now...
Apple?s iPhone 6 Plus gets put through ?bend test? in new video | 9to5Mac
Some people have mentioned that Apple is not willing to replace the bent 6 Plus models free of charge.
This issue was first reported by MacRumors, which stated that that this issue was reported by a small but a growing number of iPhone6 owners in their forums.
In one instance, the new iPhone 6 plus was bent during a day of dancing, dining and driving to a wedding. Other users found that only when there is application of some force, it bends.
Russell Holly, a reporter said that this issue was experienced by him as well. Shortly after he read this reports, he checked his iPhone 6 and found a similar issue. However, it was very less noticeable. Much like the reports, the phone was in his front pocket for a long time when he was driving.
Numerous users have uploaded images of their iPhone 6 models with a kink in them, for supporting their claims.
One forum user reported that the phone was bent significantly after it bumped into someone with it in the pocket. The bump was very light and wasn’t even close to the force that should have been required for bending it.
PD13 said that they used a phone case which wasn’t that durable. They said that a studier one would be purchased soon. The new iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5 inch screen and is made of aluminum. If pressure is applied, it bends.Last edited by Monseratto; September 24th, 2014 at 03:48 PM.
