if you are on mac and would want to use windows applications, instead of using VMware, using Oracle Virtual Box. Its free and very easy to configure.
VirtualBox is good. I was using it for a few years din but tried out Parallels last year. it is more optimized for use with OS X, seamless yung desktop interaction between OS X and Windows. yun nga lang hindi sya free. it comes with a $80 price tag for a new purchase and $50 for upgrades after that. but I liked it so much I decided to go ahead and buy it.

Want the most reliable Windows PC? Buy a Mac (or maybe a Dell) | ZDNet

Summary: A new report from Soluto uses data from its massive online database of PC crashes, hangs, and performance metrics to identify the 10 most reliable Windows PCs you can buy today. Surprisingly, a MacBook Pro is at the top of the list. Even more surprising is who's not included.

By Ed Bott for The Ed Bott Report | April 24, 2013 -- 15:00 GMT (23:00 SGT)

If you want a reliable Windows PC, maybe you should get a Mac.

That’s the conclusion of a new report released today by Soluto, which crunched the data from its cloud-based PC monitoring and management software to come up with a list of the 10 most reliable portable PCs you can buy today.

The most reliable Windows PC you can buy today, according to Soluto’s report, doesn’t come from one of the leading hardware OEMs. Instead, it’s built by Microsoft’s archrival Apple. (You'll have to use Apple's Boot Camp utility and buy your own Windows license to transform the Mac into a Windows PC.)

where do you get this stuff man?

OS X's kernel is XNU, which stands for X is Not UNIX. it is a hybrid of the Mach and FreeBSD kernels. it was released as an open-source software as a part of the Darwin OS.

You are certainly right about that part. Sounds like the MBP is not for you, what's "SC"? "value wise" meaning price? Being able to find product that meets your needs and you're comfortable would be perhaps more priceless than "value" of the product.

If you want to challenge yourself, go get a mac and install a virtual software that will let you use Windows inside OSX like Parallels or VMware fusion.
Start by using and learning Mac softwares. If things go tough, you can always use Windows, but try to restrain yourself. That's how you learn.

Sometime, it's okay to get out of your comfort zones and try other stuff - because that's how people learn.

Otherwise, we'd still be living in caves till now.

Not being a fanboy but Mac is a very reliable piece of machine. I made the switch 30 months ago and never looked back.
Just get Applecare with it and you're set for at least three productive years.
