TBH, I still shake my head when I see people buying these expensive phones (iPhone or Samsung).

its the price that you have to pay for a premium product based on market's perceptions.
parang oto lang yan na euro. it can only be serviced sa dealer.

i'll stick to my lovable LG G3 na lang...... i was never a fan of iphones naman eh, dahil sa lack of customizations.
come renewal time, i'll look for a blackberry passport...... pero wala mga telcos dito eh.

nagka-iphone naman ako noong nag-aral ako abroad dahil yung price niya is relatively cheap relative to my monthly stipend.
pero pagbalik sa pinas, hanap na ako ng affordable phones.

yung lack of customizations ng iphone ay talagang PIA.
even for jailbreakers like me, PIA yun meya't meya nag-aabang ka ng news kung pwede na mag-upgrade etc.

I read somewhere na yung fingerprints ay stored within the fingerprint reader hardware mismo. I have a friend who has a 5s with a broken home button, gumagana pa Touch ID pero nagtanong ako sa isang online Apple repair shop ang ipapalit nila is pang 5 lang. Baka pag tinuloy namin eh ma brick nga iPhone niya.

Anyway, while it's a good security feature, eh balewala na lang din yung easy repairability niya. Check YT, there are countless vids on DIY repairs, may link pa ng OEM parts. A finger scanner should be replaced by anyone, hardware lang naman mismo yan. Data should be stored somewhere else or in the CPU mismo. Greedy Apple. Tsk.

Nung bata pa ako, mahilig akong mangalikot ng phones. Kung anu anong cooked roms ang ini-install ko sa smart phones ko dati. Puyatan sa pag customize.

But now, the built in apps, and those available in the app store are more than enough for me. Siguradong walang hang or bugs. Unlike nung nagcucustomize pa ako, there were times na ilang days kong hindi magamit phone ko dahil may bug or conflict yung mga nainstall ko.

askST: What is Error 53 on Apple iPhone 6/6 Plus?, askST News & Top Stories - The Straits Times

What is Error 53 on Apple iPhone 6/6 Plus?

    Trevor Tan
    Deputy Tech Editor
    FEB 10, 2016, 4:02 PM SGT

Over the long Chinese New Year weekend, "Error 53" became a buzzword as news broke that Apple has been permanently disabling repaired iPhone 6s after software upgrades. Deputy Tech Editor Trevor Tan answers some frequently asked questions about the issue.

    WHAT IS ERROR 53?

The cryptic Error 53 shows up when an Apple iPhone user restores or updates his or her phone or tablet's iOS firmware.

This happens to people whose devices have been repaired by shops not sanctioned by Apple. The most common case is the replacement of cracked screens at the neighbourhood mobile phone repair shops, inadvertantly tampering with the Touch ID module on the screen.

According to Apple, Error 53 is the result of a security feature designed to protect its customers. When a user restores or updates his or her phone or tablet, the firmware checks the Touch ID sensor to ensure that it matches with the device's other components. If it finds a mismatch, the Touch ID and other functions including for Apple Pay will be disabled.

    WHAT APPLE DEVICES ARE AFFECTED?

But The Straits Times' check on the Apple Support forum online shows that Error 53 affects mostly Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The newer iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are believed to have a different cable design, which makes them less susceptible. Only iPhone 5s devices are not affected. Rumour has it that this is because iPhone 5s devices do not support Apple Pay.

    HOW TO FIX ERROR 53?

According to Apple Support (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205628), you can force restart your iPhone and try to restore your device again. If this doesn't work, you might have to get a new device.
