so how will you know that the receiver is capable of supplying equal, true continuous power to all channels in demand?
look for reviews of AVRs in reputable HT hardware sites in the net...

    yung harman continuous power
many models can claim continuous power but the drop off in wattage when all channels are driven could be quite considerable...

say an AVR claims 105 watts of equal, continuous power to all channels... but it turns out that this figure drops down to 50-60 watts to each channel when all channels are driven to high levels...

majority of continuous power AVRs experience drop offs of this nature especially in demanding situations... some models have more or less depending on their claimed specs.. so, it's just a matter of how honest the manufacturer of the AVR is in stating the true capabilities of their product...

bought a yamaha RX-V440 yesterday sa Spectra Park Square
6.1 na High Current na rin 95Wx6 Max so siguro na sa 70-75W ito normal

14K dahil may exhibit sila, after the exhibit balik 15.5K

mazda, ganda tumunog ang Monitor audio sa yammy

hmm... don't want to sound as a KJ but yamaha AVRs are commonly one of those that experience these substantial drop-offs... that figure could be much lower... but who knows maybe your model may be different...

also owned a yamaha AVR b4 but decided to change to a NAD AVR...

yep, Monitor audio speakers are very good...

there is always a compromise/trade-off between a system geared primarily towards HT or Audio... that's why if you can afford to do so, have them both separately...

if not, then I guess you have to choose what is your priority... you simply can't have both in one system and think that system can excel in either case... At most, it will perform adequately or less in both areas...

but am really building a HT setup... i think that the yammie is more suited for this...

yup im really into HK, sarap ng warm, soothing sound sa audio, kaso imho mas detailed ang yammy sa highs and mids that's why i opted for the yammy rx-v440, plus my criteria talaga is for HT

(mazda 14K lang sa spectra park square up to nov 30 lang ang exhibit)

i auditioned the dtx9.5 (these are the ones made by dai-ichi)
i'd say its a nice HT speaker, easy to drive at 91db sensitivity.

also saw another entry level speaker at 5th avenue shangrila, Gale speakers sounds better imho www.gale.co.uk

    kimp0y,

DTX is Dai Ichi... suggest ko mag Gale ka nalang... before, Gale is a high end brand pero ngayon ng change na ata sila ng target market. Gale is a sister company of Mordaunt Short.

    mazda,

I was about to buy that before i decided to get my HK. I rank it 70 HT/30 Music.

read it somewhere na madaling magpunit ng speaker ang marantz.
stick to your criteria mazda, if you favor movies, yamaha, kung music hk
parang choosing mud tires and highway tires, know your needs

add ko lang yung DTX kasi imported ang drivers, and export quality rebadge nga as eros speakers sa australia eh,
also yung JBL na Home Theater in a Box Speakers, Daichi ang gumawa nun, sub con sila, also Cerwin Vega sila din ang gumawa
    OEM manufacturer sila.

yung Gale and others made in china

napansin ko rin na there's no dedicated HT speakers unlike sa audio na maselan ang receiver/speaker matching,

anyways ito sana ang balak ko
Gale or Monitor Audio sa fronts/center
    DTX floorstanders as rears
    DTX center as rear center
