    cardo, nasa 50+ siya.

    tanong lang po. any idea on digital home theater receivers? malaki minura kasi compared dun sa mga conventional avr's. *400+ usd meron ka ng 6.1 channels. any input is much appreciated

    ICB ano ang ibig mong sabihin dun sa 'digital home theater receivers' compared dun sa 'conventional avr's'?

    Kasi for example, yung Denon 3805 na binabalak mong bilhin ay makakakonek din digitally for both audio and video and at the same time ay masasabi mo na conventional din sya na AVR dahil ganon pa rin naman ang functions nya as a receiver, you connect your audio and video gears into it, but with much more technical goodies ika nga....

    5Speed, actually purely digital receiver siya. yung amplifier section ng receiver is digital. I found this out from a forum and mostly japanese manufacturers ang gumagawa.

    hmmm parang pang HTIB nga...yan din ang hula ko dun sa nauna mong post...actually meron ng ganyan dito sa HK....yun nga lang parati nilang pinapackage na may kasamang satellite speakers and a sub and a dvd player.... for instance yung onkyo (nalimutan ko na model) na binili dati nung kasamahan ko dito....me kasama na nga syang digital amp pero di sya ganon kagandang tumunog kapag kinabitan mo nang conventional speakers....parang naka-design lang sya sa mga satellite speakers and a subwoofer. Tsaka mahina ang power nya compared dun sa talagang AVR, Kung purely pang HT siguro eh pwede na yan, but for music, dun pa rin ako sa conventional na stereo system w/c can be provided by the traditional AVR...

    one more thing, meron ding ganyan ang phillips, kung napupunta ka sa fortress superstores, andaming phillips model na merong digital amp...kaya lang me kasama parati na dvd player at sat spkrs and sub yung package...me nabibili yatang amp lang sa mongkok but I am so sure about this....

    5Speed, parang ganun na nga yun. nakita ko lang kasi dun sa forum na kaya nya idrive malalaking speakers kaya nagresearch ako ng kaunti hehe.
    anyway, sira na pala ung denon avr2500 ko. saan ko kya pwede ipaayos yun dyan sa Pinas?
    right now, tiningnan ko yung marantz 8500. any feedback on this model?

    ICB, wala rin akong alam na service center ng denon sa manila, yung unit ko eh medyo may problema na rin, wala akong mapagpagawan, minsan dinala nung bayaw ko dun sa isang shop na medyo maayos daw gumawa, ayaw pakialaman, puro pioneer, yamaha sony at kenwood daw ang sanay silang gawin hehehe at least honest sila sa customer di ba...

    Okay yang marantz, yan ang maraming pre-out na AVR, halos parehas ang internal nyan sa Denon.... me nakapagsabi kasi sa akin noon na iisa ang factory na pinag-gagawan ng Marantz at Denon, so they share some of the components daw pati mga chips, kaya pag binuksan mo raw parehas yung dalawa halos parehas ang laman, magkaiba lang ang lay-out at yung kanya kanyang proprietry electronic gizmo....meron din yatang nagpost nito sa internet....actually di ko talaga madifferentiate ang tunog nung dalawa, using the same speakers and settings unlike comparing it with HK or Yamaha/Pioneer, dinig mo difference nang tunog.... so kahit ano dyan eh oks na oks... I chose Denon at that time dahil mas gusto ko ang hitsura nya, tsaka meron silang medyo gray na kulay unlike marantz noon na puro kulay ginto....hehehe ngayon meron na silang parang silver na kulay.....

    5Speed, yup tama ka, iisa lang nga sila along with McIntosh. Nagpost din ako sa pinoydvd regarding sa repair para magamit naman sa pinas.

    ICB, ever thought of acquiring a Harman Kardon receiver? nag-audition kasi ako nang HK330 (kunyari eh bibili...hehehe) at maganda talaga syang tumunog....medyo mas mura pa sya kesa Denon 3805.... yung narinig ko eh sa B&W speakers ikinabit....

    5Speed, I already auditioned the HK630, Denon 3805, Marantz SR8500, and Sherwood R965. Okay naman lahat so far, sa features na lang sila nagkakatalo. Ewan ko hirap pumili between Sherwood and Marantz hehe.

    Mga 'tol, besides of what you have right now, what do you think is the best home theater system (or brand) out there pagdating sa tv, dvd vcd cd players, speakers, receivers etc? Medyo nahihirapan na kasi ako magdecide what to buy sa dami ng pagpipilian. Before I was leaning towards the bose lifestyle 38 HTS, pero when I read the reviews, some say its not worth the high price. Ano ba talaga mga kuya? (given you have unlimited funds)

    Marantz - the one I bought (SR8500 paired with B&W Speakers)
    Denon
    Sherwood
    Pioneer
    Yamaha
    Onkyo
    atbp ...

    Speakers? I suggest you test before you decide.

    Stereo mode muna ako ngaun, yun pa lang naapruban ng CIF eh hehe. Next would be the subs (either SVS, Velodyne, Sunfire, or B&W), then center and rears (B&W LCR600 and B&W DM601.S3).

    mine's the 3M s10, wait nalang matapos house. reasonably cheap projector though best resolution is only SVGA(800x600), XGA is possible but image quality is not as good. pininfarina designed kc hehe

    I heard Bang and Olufsen audio-video is pretty good. My cousin bought 1 from europe, I havent seen it yet but according to him its one of the best out there. Any of you guys familiar with this brand?
