Yup, I can now see Mayor (of Las Pinas) Aguilar's house and my folks' house nearby. Looks like the mayor had her house totally rebuilt while my mom went through with extending our house.

I can also see Fernando's Supermarket, the Philamlife Village Chapel, etc. I seem to have lost track of where the Philamlife Village Swimming Pool is unless it's now an indoor pool.

I can also see UPH (formerly PHCR) where I had my HS. The soccer field seems gone although the open area is still there. Glad all the saplings we planted didn't go to waste. The swimming pool is still there too. Good thing it looks blue now compared to the dark sea green it used to be.

Also, I just noticed that the Alabang-Zapote Road is now 4 lanes. Last I remembered, it was only 2 lanes.

Pamplona, Las Pinas...... That's RFC Mall top left of image, Fernando's Supermarket bottom center and our neighborhood (including our house and the mayor's house) in the top right quarter.

Speaking of Philamlife Village, what happened to the community swimming pool? Last I remembered, there was an open-door pool by the tennis court......

it's still there naman. it gets a little facelift annually but otherwise it's still good to go i suppose. the tennis court is in good condition because it just got refurbished a few weeks before summer started

how long we're you here in the philippines anyway bro?

I was there from the mid-70's to the early 80's.

I remember me and the varsity soccer team going swimming at the Philamlife Village pool every Saturday after practice. Then, I'd take the "eskinita" by the gas station across Fernando's Supermarket as a shortcut home to Dona Manuela Subdivision.

I can't find the swimming pool still, though. Is it now enclosed or obscured by trees?

Anyway, I remember just one family from Philamlife Village, the Sulits.

you've been gone for ages bro. and unfortunately i'm not familiar w/ the sulits.

regarding the swimming pool, well it's still there. but i think that when this satellite pic was taken it was unfortunately drained that's why there's no water visible in the frame. i'm guessing it was being given it's periodic cleaning/maintenance then. if you look closer though, you can see the white tiles of the pool in place of the bluish hue usually associated w/ water

the eskinita you are referring to is no longer an eskinita. it's now big enough to be considered a vital part of the network of roads in las pinas

Is that what they call it (that eskinita) now? Last I remember, there was a gated fence blocking vehicular traffic as it enters Rosal street (and the Mayor's house). Is it still there? Yup. That area there would be my neighborhood.

Edit: Ooops. never mind, Didn't notice earlier post which answered my question. Thanks...

Ahhh. it's so obvious now...... Thanks. Yup. I've been gone too long. I want to go to the Philippines and visit my folks. But, my wife don't want me to go to the Philippines alone and she kinda avoids my Mom as well. My Mom hates her guts (because my wife's "Bisaya".... sheesh, such silly notions/politics...).

We'll probably try another visit in a couple of years.

    Anyway:
There's the pool at bottom center (and the hexagon-roofed chapel top center):

i agree w/ you about the tagalogs vs visayans vs ilocanos vs kapampangans vs bulakenos, etc rivalry/discrimination concept is downright childish and outdated

I'm not sure myself. Whatever that narrow road is next to the gas station across the Alabang-Zapote road from Fernando's...... But yep, we're relatively close neighbors.......

If you guys know where Mayor Aguilar's house is, then we're not too far from them.
