Go for Globelines instead of Smart Bro. In my 9 months with smart bro, i've had 3 major problems with 2 weeks to 1 month of downtime. as in no connection.
Unlike other people who get lousy speeds like less than 100kbps, mine is okay when it's working but sucks when something goes wrong. Support basically sucks and you need a lot of patience to get yourself scheduled for technical support.

Patience, Persistence and a lot of swearing... ...customer support depends on how much bodily harm you threaten to inflict on the person you're talking to if they don't get out to your house now...

And even then, it still takes a week... or two.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

technically, broadbands are the same. magkakaiba lang ang companies in terms of services, SLAs and price.

for your question, if both telcos are supported in your area, much better ang globe... why? because of their customer service mechanism.

but if you do not have a choice, instead of paying for 999 pesos a month, get a 3G enabled phone subscription na postpaid sa Smart... may libre phone ka pa, may internet ka pa. and imho, yung media advertisements na 999/month ang broadband, its a farce, dahil in reality, you pay more than 1000 pesos each month dahil may other charges like VAT, currency adjustments, etc.

what i did is to get a plan 1200 from smart, added some cash so i can get a P990 unit, use it for calls, for texts, for wireless LAN browsing, and for wired internet browsing as a modem sa PC ko sa house... sulit yung 1200, hindi ako lumalampas.

If Globe is available sa area mo, go for it...may kasama pang landline kaya mas ok..kaso the problem is di lahat ng area ng globe is may available na data ports to cater internet service. Chances are you might end up waiting a loooonngggg time, ganyan nangyari sa akin, so no choice but to use Smart Bro

Sa SmartBro, as per my experience frequent ang disconnections lalo kapag ganitong nag-uulan, pero depende baka dyan sa area mo mas okey.

IMO, better if you ask folks from your area and get the feedback straight from them...

'Been using Smart 3G through a mobile phone modem for several weeks now using different celfone models (just to test). Average speed I'm getting is around 180-220kbps. Last night it hit 282.7kbps. The lowest connection speed I usually get is around 57.8 kbps.

    So far, so good.

Globe or Smart broadband?
