Planning to buy another power inverter. Pag matagal ang black out pwede ikabit sa car to charge all those things with no car chargers. Pwede din ikabit sa car battery to power a fan or comp.

So i just bought my first high end tactical flashlight, a fenix ld12. I bought it mainly because it's small enough to carry in my pocket or my edc bag.but most important is because it is powered by a single AA battery which is widely available compared to other proprietary batteries.

Now for those flashlight gurus here, where can i buy attachments for this light? I am interested in the one that diffuses the beam to a wide angle and the other one that converts it to a lamp. I bought a red diffuser so i can use it a signal light or a beacon. It's the one that actually looks like a d1ld0 hahaha. Really it looks like that

we are assured that even without electricity, the barangay will have water

We have a gasoline-fed generator and about 3 cu-meters of water (good for about 2days+).. Our pantry also has some canned-goods, cooking material, rice and noodles...

Gadgets we are talking here are mostly not meant to be used while disaster is ongoing (earthquake, typhoon, volcanic eruption, etc). If you will notice, most of it are related to camping or outdoor survival. The best method of self preservation against any calamity is still avoidance. Gadgets help the survivor when outside the danger zone.

Sirs tanong lang re generators: how do you store the fuel? Di ba napapanis/nag eexpire din ang gasolina/diesel?

In my head, if i had a generator, i imagine i would siphon off fuel from the car...so dapat match yung genset mo with you car's fuel type.

after the typhoon yolanda, i realized the importance of solar charging system. i was thinking of DIY-ing a small solar lighting and mobile phone charging system. anyone familiar kung pano gawin ito?

In my head, if i had a generator, i imagine i would siphon off fuel from the car...so dapat match yung genset mo with you car's fuel type.

Fuel will deteriorate in a span of time, exactly how long? I do not know. As a precaution to this, I always make sure that the I use up my stored diesel fuel (FIFO) every 2 months, then replenish.

There are a lot of DIY websites that can show you how to do this...pero generally you need

- solar panel
- deep cycle battery. typical car batteries aren't built for long-term use. Meron ang Motolite sa website nila. Solar master ata or something
- voltage regulator
- transfer switch if you want to wire your home.




Some also sell DIY solar power kits complete with the components you need.
Locally some hardware stores may have this..or di kaya sa Raon. Or CDR King

Bago pa tumama si Yoland nakabili kasama ko ng 4 na solar panel na binili nya for 250qar/ea nahirapan sya maghanap yung charge controller. Set-up nya sa bahay nila sa Iloilo. Ang sabi nya kaya daw pagabahin ang lahat ng ilaw at 2 electric fan.

Yung kasama ko na isa nag uwi nya ng LED rechargeable light na may naka attach na solar panel and cellphone charger (lahat ng ung pwede)

iniisip ko nga i-DIY.. kaso kailangan ko aralin yung mga controllers, etc. hindi naman ako engineer

im sure mas malaki tipid kung DIY. basic na kailangan lang naman is konting lighting, fnas, and charging ng mga mobile phones.
