i also vouch for the asus. ganyan gamit nung isa kong staff. nakakainggit nga eh.
on windows 8, its similar to windows 7..... without the start button. the start button is replaced by the live screen.
but personally, i don't feel comfortable with windows.... i prefer ubuntu.
parang nababagalan ako and needs regular maintenance.
^also looking at this model.
also Asus s46cm ultrabook
i5 3317
4gb
500gb+24gb ssd
gt635 2gb graphics
win8
32,500
from pc corner
based from specs x450 is slightly better but im drawn to form of s46cm, what do you guys think?
btw hindi natatanggal battery ng ultrabook? if so hindi pala pwede nakaiwan nakaplug the whole day
I currently have an ASUS ZENBOOK which is a higher model of the one you are looking at. It has the same fixed battery, etc. Personally I like the ultrabook format because it is very thin and stylish. I don't miss not having a DVD drive and it even saves some weight not having it on the laptop. For times I do need an optical drive, I have an USB external CD/DVD drive.
As for leaving it plugged in the whole day, not really an issue. My zenbook is almost a year old and battery wear is still under 2%. I leave it plugged in every night and bring the ultrabook with me during the daytime. The only issue I have found is the heat when I am playing graphics heavy games. To fix that, I just use a laptop pad with fans under it when I am playing games.

yes wanted the zenbook too but price is out of my budget which is weird because my last asus laptop i bought costs around 75k, i guess with most laptops pricing around 20-30k ayoko na magspend higher than 40k, i think around 50k+ yan but man, specs rock!
gusto ko rin ng ultrabook, so i guess i will be going with the s46cm, thanks ghosthunter!

Yung Samsung ba na Activ Book 4 new arrival ba yun or luma na?
Wala silang brochure eh.

With me naman, this current ASUS ultrabook is the most expensive laptop I have bought so far at around P65K at the time of purchase. Meron konting buyer's remorse because a few months later, cheaper Asus ultrabooks came out into the market that have the same base specifications (cpu, gpu, hdd, etc) without the expensive enhancements like back-lighted keyboard, audio by "Bang & Olufsen", etc. BUT I do love the one piece milled aluminum chassis and I hope it will not show any wear marks as my laptop gets older (usually the palm area tends to have it's painted colored worn off). And at the time of purchase, this was the only lightweight ultrabook with discrete accelerated GPU. Before this, I had the Acer S3 ultrabook.

Do you still use a desktop PC in your home? or you just use a laptop? or you have both desktop PC and laptop? what is your preference.![]()
Meron kaming laptop,netbook.tablet at desktop.
I used to have lots of desktops for multi-boxing (online mmorpg gamers will know what I mean) and I had a quadcore desktop as a file and video server as well. I also had two HTPCs (home theatre pc). I changed the server to a quadcore laptop and saved a bundle on electric bills (it was on 24x7). I also changed the two HTPCs to western digital live tv players . I still have one gaming desktop left for serious gaming. But recently I have been buying laptops with graphics power that is even more powerful than my remaining desktop. I have a laptop with a gtx 770m (sager p150) and another one with SLI 750m (lenovo y510p) Laptops rule - in particular that Lenovo sure is really nice bang for buck. Tablets and laptops are it for me from now on. No more desktops for me ever. Once this last remaining desktop outlives its graphics card and 3rd Gen i7 I am replacing it with another laptop.
My set up is 7 laptops and 1 desktop. My small kids call their friends over and have lan parties all the time. Fun to watch.

I have both.
At portable pa.
