Globe and converge uses CGNAT. U have to buy a cam that has a vpn server (i don't know what it is called) so you can access it thru your account with them.

Those. Ipcams have, qube, y cams. Etc

So PLDT fiber doesn't? How would I know?

Cloud based ba or P2P or something? Kasi plug and play eh no need to set up anything.

Plug and play lang mga yan no need to tinker with the settings ma access remotely thru their mobile app. Anong protocol ba ginagamit na mga yan?

Will it matter if ISP is under CGNAT or not?

my public ip sa whatsmyIP is different from my router WAN IP, does it mean I'm under CGNAT? and I cant ping my ip

^aside from the IP address, you need to know what PORT number does your camera hardware operate on

for P2P set up those port number is very important..the firewalls of the ISP must allow it (video data) to pass through. if not then P2P wont work..no video encapsulated in TCP/IP will be available over the cloud (WAN) as it will only be available to your LAN

your other option is to utilize a server that cater to the video stream service that you require

Why is PLDT insisting on Fiber? I don't want fiber kasi pag namatay internet patay din ang landline Also, I think my student discount will be removed because I applied for this through school pa

they probably have their reasons that ultimately translate to increased income for them.
if you are satisfied with what you already have, just stay with it.

They’re phasing out DSL.

Fiber wires can't be sold and useless sa junkshop, so hindi mainit sa mga makating kamay.

He denied our upgrade that was initiated by globe twice na. [emoji23]

we once had a talk with the installer.
mahirap raw kapag malayo ang subscriber to the nearest node (whatever that is).

They fiberize to future-proof.

And yes mas prone lagare-tanso-in ang copper mahal kasi per kilo sa junk shop.

May kanya kanya wire limit to set mean time to repair and service level agreements. Usually sa copper 400-600meters, residential multimode fiber up to 1km. The longer, the less reliable because of longer point of failure.

I wonder if ours is near kasi last year pa sila nangu ngulit. I'm thinking my quota ba sila or goal to convert 100% fiber in our area?

Kaasar lang kasi pinadaan sa bintana because our wall is too thick daw, tinamad lang? I understand though kasi makapal naman talaga hahaha.

May deadline yan fiberization, den kung matigas ka pipitikin ung linya mo then sabihin unrestorable due to legacy equipment end of life ng equipment. You got no choice but to upgrade. Same sa 2G and 3G eventually aalisin na yan, clear indication is voice now being switched from circuit to packet, we have voice over wifi and LTE.

Ako na mismo nag apply for upgrade. Additional ₱200 monthly will convert my vDSL 35 mbps to 150 mbps na fiber.
